I've used both Red Hot and Atomic Balm for years. Started in HS back in the 70's when I ran X-Country. My dad was a coach and got me to use it, especially on cold Buffalo days in late fall or early spring. Now I play tennis 4X weekly and use it on both knees all the time. Red Hot when I'm especially stiff and Atomic Balm when I'm only somewhat stiff (I'm 57 years old now).Note to new users who complain that they don't feel anything: both these topicals really go to work when your pores open. If you don't work up at least a little sweat after putting them on, you won't feel anything. HOWEVER, once you're perspiring, the heat is intense (Red Hot even more than AB). This is the reason that some commenters recommended being careful washing it off in the shower after your workout: when hot water opens your pores in the shower, you will absolutely feel like your skin is burning! It takes some getting used to, try the AB first.One other tip...in addition to avoiding your eyes, beware of any open cuts on your hands or fingers, or where you're applying the stuff. Also, avoid the sensitive groinal areas. You'll only make the mistake once.

Holy hell. This stuff is HOT!!! I officiate Basketball and was having a lot of issues with repeated pulled/strained muscles. I got this because I remembered not being too impressed with atomic balm when I was an athlete.It takes about 15 mins to kick in. I rubbed it in and then put on compression leggings. It burns...After that, I felt like I was standing too close to a bonfire for about 4 hours. That being said, with it on, I didn’t even feel a tweak from my sore muscles. Sweat definitely exacerbates it, as well as water and compression. You only need a very smallamount and if you can, I would use gloves to put it on.But if you don’t have super sensitive skin, this does the trick!

I usually purchase another brand of gel but this was a larger tub for a cheaper price. Well, you get what you pay for!My normal exercise routine is applying the gel and wrapping my stomach while wearing a waist trainer, exercising for roughly 1.5 hours. After removing the plastic and taking a 10 minute cold shower, this stuff still burned. It’s been over 30 minutes after my routine exercise and it’s still burning.Although this was my first and last time using this, it it make me sweat allot but boy am I regretting the after process.

A high school coach of mine had this in his goodie bag. My first time using came as a surprise as I got to third base and quickly though my skin was literally bubbling. This stuff is hot. Like hot, hot.Going through college and even into semi pro leagues, this baby was always near. Helping in everything from preventative care and warm ups to a pretty well strained or pulled muscle this stuff is a must.Do be cautious though, it's hot. Not warm, hot. If you use your fingers to apply it, be careful to wash it all off, even if you have the smallest amount and run your eyes or lips later in the day, you'll be hopping around and biting your tongue. It's also great eva use its odorless. Warning: it's hot. I know I've said it but some idiot will throw a bunch on and he'll look like the guy from fantastic four that catches fire. And do NOT attempt to wash it off if it is too hot for you. It will increase even more. I remember vividly trying to get it off with a bunch of ice cubs in the dugout back in the day. Badddddddd idea. If you need something to ease muscles and warm ya up, here ya go. 100% the best.

The first time I used this, I had just gotten it and didn't read what everyone else had to say about it. I thought it didn't work. Then I put it on after a hot shower and holy cow - I felt like there were fire ants all over me. Super hot. Wash your hands after using. And then wash them again. If you get it in your eyes, you will know what I mean. And don't put your fingers in your mouth either. Seriously, you will be sorry...

In short: Delayed warm and hot spells.In detail:When using the different times on my damaged ankle;*First 45 minutes/hour - kinda nothing.*After 45 minnutes/hour - hey, feeling kinda warm.*2 hours in - ok, subsiding, at least from consciousness.* About 4 hours in - OMFG IT"S HOT. WOAH.* About 4&3/4 hours in. Wooh! Ok, maybe normalish coming back.* About 5+ hours in - wasn't that stuff a trip?* About 8 hours in - SURPRISE!!! SUPREME HOT -AGAIN-!!!* About 9 hours in - want more punishent (or distraction) by reapplying some more? i felt pretty much nothing for the first 45 minutes to and hour. ....... then I would get awarm sensation on the skin (felt from inside). ... then it would subside. .......... BUT THEN 4 HOURS LATER OMFG IT'S HOT. --LIKE REALLY HOT--.But wait! - it doesn't stop there.....-- There was more delay of nothing after, and 8ish hour later THEN ALL THE SUDDEN EXTREME HOT.Wow.Um, it's nice to feel the simulation of warm heat on a sore area. - And this product did do that......... after a delay... in the beginning. BUT THEN ExTREmE HOT ------ Intermittently ------ and over a long period of time!Maybe this phenomenon happened because there is constricted blood flow at the (my) ankles/feet? And maybe these effects wouldn't happen on other parts of the body - BESIDES ankles/feet.I originally got this for my mother who has really bad peripheral neuropathy such that she gets crazy-making sensations of freezing coldness in her feet.-- But she HATED this product because she felt she was burning despite the "cold" of her feet.So, the product advertises as being extremely hot. This stuff is effective. ..........Just to have a distraction from the injury pain I have, I might still use this product.The item was packaged securely.
