Just good enough to do the job!
Cheap low use tool gets the job done. Low quality but works surprisingly well. If you're a pro doing this type of work, day in and day out, buy professional quality tools. DYI or first and only time, buy this tool. No regrets.

works for the occasional use
Takes a little patience to get it lined up and the nut hand tight. After that it worked fine and good for home user. I used this to compress the springs in a ford C6, making a tough job a whole lot easier.

Good tool.
This tool worked for the transmission I was rebuilding. I liked the set up and how the large plate fit.

If you’re going to put all 18 springs back don’t buy this!
If I were only putting 10 or 12 springs back this would probably work great, which is why I give it a three star. But I’m probably an idiot because when I took the reverse high clutch out a 68 Ford C6, it had all 18 springs and that’s what I want to put back in to it . This is just not up for the task. I’ve bent in the washer that came with it, Damage the threads because I had to turn the wingnut with a pair of pliers because I can’t turn it by hand anymore, had to chase springs around the garage, and in general, been working on it for more than an hour on what should’ve been something that taken 30 seconds. If you’re only doing 10 to 12 springs it will probably work fantastic for you. But if I were only doing 10 to 12 springs I wouldn’t need the tool…

Well worth the small cost
This will save huge time and aggravation when removing snap rings in a transmission rebuild. Built well and saved both time and bloody knuckles.

Can't beat the price
I ordered this tool for the European repair shop I own so we could rebuild Mercedes / Porsche 722.x transmissions. I rolled the dice hoping that a $25-30 tool would work just as good as the OEM $200 tool. My Mercedes master tech was pleasantly surprised that it over all worked well. Make sure you grease the threads before you compress the springs as they are a finer pitch than the OEM tool - other than that, this is a great unit, well built and strong. We've already rebuild four transmission with this tool. (1991 R129 Mercedes 500SL 722.3 Transmission, 1984 R107 / C107 Mercedes 550SL 722.3 Transmission, 1987 W124 Mercedes190E 722.4 Transmission, and a 1984 Porsche 928S 722.2 Transmission)
