Japanese Hard Rock/JMetal group, Doll$Boxx, return after a long absence with their sparkling new mini-album, High $pec.Sliptrick Records presents this US edition. The 5 tracks once again feature the vocal talents of Fuki (from Fuki Commune) backed by the excellent musicianship of the girls from Gacharic Spin - Hana (drums), F Chopper Koga (bass), Tomo-Zo (guitar) and Oreoreona (keyboards). The cover art has been made by the famous Japanese illustrator Masayuki Kojo (Star Wars, Spider-Man, Devilman and more). The brand new band logo as seen on the cover was also designed by Mr. Koji. Doll$Boxx have also got themselves a new look courtesy of world renowned fashion designer n.NAOTO (Marilyn Manson, X Japan, Evanescence's Amy Lee). Doll$Boxx have a tradition of releasing official music videos for almost all of their released tracks and High $pec is no exception. All 5 songs will have full video productions accompanying them.

A great album, all too short
I bought this on the strength of their 2013 album Doll's Apartment. This album is just as powerful as the first - every musician is simply amazing at their instrument, and they put their all into each track. The main differences are that each track feels just a tad better than the last, but on the other hand, there isn't a musical theme connecting them. (There might be a lyrical theme - but as I don't understand Japanese, it's not apparent to me.)It's worth mentioning: don't let the fact that all the lyrics are in Japanese stop you from buying this. Understanding the lyrics is not a requirement to being blown away by this record.

Wow... just wow!
I am not going to give a track by track review. All I will say is, if you want to hear some amazingly talented musicians rock out then buy this album. If you really want to be amazed then listen to it with headphones. The orchestration of the songs is phenomenal.I cannot speak any Japanese, but I don't have to inorder to appreciate amazing musicianship and songwriting.

i truly loved the doll's apartment album done back in 2013 and was hoping for a follow up effort from these talented ladies this tim around after 4 years.i have to give it only 4 stars because it just does not seem to have the fun mood of their first record.they also use cookie monster voice a tad too much for my liking.the songs are good and are definitely likeable but there are not any real standout songs for me like toy soldiers or loud twin stars or merrily high go round from album 1.but they are at their instrumental best as usual and i am still glad i bought this.support your doll$boxx

Worth the $ sign.
That dollar sign in their name is there for a reason. They are worth your money. Insane drumming, great keys and guitar work, fantastic bass and fronted by FUKI. You can not go wrong with this band. Talent level is off the charts. I'd give them 10 stars if it would let me. Only complaint is 5 songs......

I would give Dolls Apartment 4 and 1/2 stars but High Spec falls short. The songs aren't bad, I just can't seem to get into any of them. Their musicianship is still great any I like the heavy look of the band, Oreo-Reona looks especially desirable. However, these just seem like 5 songs that didn't need to be recorded. If your a fan you will probably still want to get it but if your new to Dolls Boxx (AKA Gacharic Spin) and haven't already, get Dolls Apartment instead.

Give it a chance
I didn't care for this album at first, but it has really grown on me the more I listen to it. Now I love it.
