This pleased the child in me. And I'm 'old'.
First, I love Lee Seung Gi. And he gave me what I expected from this drama. The plot was cute and in line with the fairy tales that I enjoyed as a little girl. And when the hero raced to save the Princess, I reverted to the seven year old girl who jumped up and down in my seat, riding with the hero in a moment of need. As to the other performers, I saw the characters as they were portrayed. All of the potential bridegrooms weren't just pretty faces. I saw the persons they were behind those pretty faces. As I am a Korean rom/com/drama fan, I do watch a lot of dramas and rom/coms. This movie was just the right length for me. It had just the right amount of comedy, and the building of the dramatic tension had me on the edge of my seat. I don't need a sequel, or a tv series. I am replete, and can actually take a day off from watching Korean dramas to think about this one while I catch up on chores: house work, gardening, and LOL, writing my own little dramas.I only noticed three expected tropes. The 'accidental' first kiss. Extorting help by threatening the ML's brother, then pushing him into the well anyway. And the assumed 'intimacy' between the FL and the villain.I would have liked a 'little' more clarification. The young man who pushed the FL and the ML into the river never received any punishment for that, or his cruelty to his people. And I really liked him. For just two blinks of the eye, I actually thought 'he' might be the chosen Bridegroom, and the ML was the Fairy Godfather character. I would have accepted that. It could have pleased many who thought this was just another tale of expected tropes. Oh! I would also have liked to see Buttercup return to the Princess.Okay. I said I was old and had reverted to my childhood. So, yeah, I loved it! It's not the type of drama or even rom/com that my sisters, and other adult female family members would enjoy. But my younger nieces, and granddaughters will love it as much as I do.

There are English subtitles and found the story funny and interesting
I like Korean romance movies and love when they add in some comedy and a guy who is an unexpected bada**. Note:It has English subtitles in sync with events as they occur. Although there is a predictable ending, life also has a predictable ending but we still enjoy the ride. In this instance, I found the ride to be enjoyable, endearing, and heart fluttering with the male hero. If you enjoy a good story that you can predict where you'll end up but want to experience the path that leads you there, then I recommend you watch this.

So Glad I Watched
Everything in this movie was so well done from the actors to the storyline to the ending. The English subtitles were done perfectly as well. I have watched many Korean movies and dramas over the past 4 years, and I must admit that this was one of the most enjoyable Korean movies I have seen. It had a perfect balance of story, romance, comedy, intrigue, and suspense.

good but ...
too short and too rush. Maybe should be a series.

A sweet romantic movie..
What can I say? I am sucker for sweet romantic stories... and "The Princess and the Matchmaker delivers. Feel good romance with a happy ending. Predictable? Yes. But at the end of the day what does one want from such movies? a good story, good acting and to be left with a sweet happy feeling at the end of it. Well I Loved this movie.
