Authentic! Must be cooked before you eat it. Our Japanese exchange student loves it.
Authentic! Must be cooked before you eat it. Our Japanese exchange student loves it. Delicious.AMAZING!! For those giving 1 star - they mistakenly think this is the soft blobby mochi you can buy in US grocery stores. This is authentic Japanese mochi that must be cooked (in soup, oven or grilled) before you eat it.

Like the texture
Great to make on a waffle iron. Eaten it with spicy toppings or sweet. Crunchy outside, somewhat guey inside.

Classic mochi taste, easy to make
I grew up in Japan, eating mochi for New Year's, and I was around when my mom was cooking them over the stove, and sometimes it will get burned. With these, you can just put them in the toaster oven, and toss them for twice as long as you might toast a piece of bread. They puff up beautifully get a little brown on them, and you can take them out, put a little soy sauce, and then, wrap them in some nori, enjoy!

Just like we use to have sent from Japan as a kid!
We had these as kids. They were sent from relatives or if we could find an oriental store that carried them. They were a treat for sure! We kept frozen, put on seaweed, heat in microwave until they swell like a marshmallow. They deflate. Then eat. You can also make a sauce or put in sweet beans.
