Good paint
Painted my wheels and the color is nice! A little lighter than I thought but it looks great, and close to OEM for my waffle wheels. Held up great under conditions, no chips.

Fantastic clear coat for painted rims
My old aluminum wheels had started to corrode after 22 yrs. So, I cleaned them, painted them with wheel paint, then needed to clear coat them. So, the Rustoleum wheel paint can said to clear coat it with Rustoleum wheel clear coat. Never heard of Rustoleum having a wheel clear coat. So, I did some research. Turns out, the Rustoleum wheel clear coat came in with terrible reviews. So scratch that. Then I stumbled across VHT. I've used VHT in the past, and it's excellent. Found a High Heat Wheel Clear Coat made by VHT. PERFECT ! Read the reviews, ordered 4 spray cans for 4 wheels. Applied as directed. Takes 7 days to fully cure. Now that is some good stuff !!! The brilliant clear shine it left is beautiful. Sprayed on easily, even upside down and sideways. No drips or spitting from the nozzle. Fantastic product ! After 7 days, I'll go over the clear coat with a clear ceramic sealer for added protection. Can never go wrong with a VHT product !

My wheels look like they got powder coated
Honestly I was skeptical about painting my wheels but they were just so faded out and basically down to the aluminum. I just got my car wrapped so I wanted black wheels and powder coating that was going to cost like $1,000. I prepped and sanded and used a self-etching primer and then two coats of this. They look amazing! Everyone keeps complimenting them and thinks that I got them professionally done. I don't even want to admit that it only cost me $30 to do. What a deal! It goes on evenly as long as you use the correct sweeping motion. The coverage was great with two coats. Super easy to apply. Fantastic value. Really happy with this.

Good Product Overall
The only thing I didn't like was that it didn't dry to a smooth finish. It's not super rough, but it's not smooth either. Otherwise, it worked well.

Awesome satin sheen! Awesome coverage. Prep wheels for best results.
My ‘01 Sequoia’s aluminum rims were looking kinda rough, I decided to paint ‘em black when i rotated my tires a few months ago. This paint applies easily (2 thin coats) and looks AWESOME! I used one full can for the job. Note..if you want great, long-lasting results, prep is key. I washed wheels thoroughly, roughed up all surfaces to be sprayed with 3M Scotchbright pads, then wiped down with a rag/acetone (gloves), then wiped down with isopropyl alcohol/microfiber towel. I jammed a row of index cards between wheel and tire (wheels off vehicle and laying flat on floor) to shield the tires from the paint. (If you’ve ever tried to tape-mask a tire to spray the rim, you’ll see the advantage). The black satin sheen looks perfect, and no chips flaking after many miles/washes.

Great product, best at this price. (be patient!!!!)
Be patient both: 1) when spraying. this is thinner than paint and if you spray too much at a time it WILL run/drip. Instead, be patient and do a couple light coats with 10 mins between them. Its better to spend the time and do 5 thin coats, than to rush and do a coat too thick and mess up your whole job when it drips. 2) Curing: this takes a WEEK to cure. I live in Texas, its hot, and my wheels were in the garage 3 days. At that point I could, and did, put a scratch in the clear coat and VHT paint on my rim with my fingernail. Be patient and if your able to, dont drove or allow anything near the wheel for a week. After 7 days, these felt like new wheels from the factory. PRO TIP: My rims came out looking amazing. BUT, I wanted extra protection and shine. After it cures, a week minimum after painting / clear coating, you can wet sand this with 1500-2000 grit sandpaper to smooth it out. After you do that you can a. add more clear coat if your paranoid like me. OR, add compound and buff this. This will make the wheel really pop. Again, just spraying and allowing it to cure looked great. the wetsanding and polishing is for extra shine / smoothness enjoy
