Samyang Carbo Ra-bokki Buldak Chicken Flavored Rice Cake Ramem Noodles 2019 New

I'm a big fan of the Samyang Carbo Ramen and was happy to find this item. It is a bit pricy, but you get a good portion of noodles and rice cakes so, for me, it was worth it. A few things to note if you are familiar with the regular Carbo Ramen: 1) The noodles included with this are not the same as the traditional Carbo. They have a similar texture, but they are the rounder noodles found in some of the other Samyang products. 2) The sauce included with these is MUCH MUCH spicier than in the traditional Carbo Ramen. When making these I decided to add an extra package of noodles so I cooked the traditional Carbo with the other noodles+rice cakes. I opened the cheese packet and sauce packet from both and they smelled similar. I don't do well with spice so I'm used to measuring out the amount of sauce that I can handle. Since I assumed the sauces were the same, I used the sauce from the ra-bokki. I was only able to take a few bites because the ra-bokki sauce was so spicy. I'm talking only a few drops here and my mouth was on fire. I wouldn't let that take off points though because it was delicious and I will definitely be purchasing again. I will most likely toss the cheese and sauce and just use the packets from the traditional Carbo. If you're a fan of the regular Carbo ramen, you will love these, just be warned that you may need to use less sauce than normal if you can't handle spice.

I paid a little extra for quick shipping. Arrived pretty quick. I read other reviews on here... and the Q&A... y’all.. when people say this is spicy.. believe me... it’s spicy... lol .. I opened the seasoning packages while I was cooking the noodles and rice cakes.. it was spicy enough to where I knew I couldn’t use the whole sauce packets .. I used less than a teaspoon from each.. I realize I probably didn’t get the full flavor effect by doing this. I added some spam as well.. the flavor was decent.. if you can get over the spicy burning lips and tongue! I was only able to eat a few bites. I don’t regret paying to try it, I’ll never regret trying anything for the first time .. well most things.. but I don’t think I’ll be buying it again unless I know someone to give it as a gift to. I’ve never had authentic rice cakes.. for these I don’t really care for the texture , they reminded me of how I imagine eating a glob I’d paste would taste, however no taste to them. I imagine they would take the taste of the sauce well.I’d say worth the try to try it.

Like others have mentioned - this ish is SPICY! I only used a pack and a half of the sauce and it was at the top of my spicy level. Probably would use only one sauce packet next time to truly enjoy it.This was also my first time eating rice cakes and I LOVE them. Chewy and doughy - absolute perfection.Some would review this product negatively because on price, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the product. If you don’t live in a city where these types of products are readily available then the splurge is worth it.

I didn't follow the directions correctly but I managed to make it work. Keep that in mind when reading my review. The instructions are not the same as the noodle or tteokbokki instructions. This was my fatal flaw. I added too much water and ended up having to drain some of it with the sauce in order for it to come out right. It worked out though because as the other reviewers said it's definitely more spicy than the regular noodles or tteokbokki packs.It's a large one person portion of Balduk Carbo noodles, but it could be two small portions. I tend to eat less when I eat spicy food and this seemed like a lot even though I normally would be able to eat this much, so that's where I can see it being split.It was super tasty, but I probably won't order it again because of cost and that it's a little bit more than I'd like to eat in one sitting. I also don't think it would be good as leftovers, so I'll probably stick to ordering them separately.

When I say use literally only a drop of that sauce I’m telling only use a drop bc even then it’s a tad spicy. It’s kinda bland but it’s not bad. Probably won’t purchase again bc of the texture.

It was disgusting! Couldn’t get past the cheese taste! Definitely a waste of money

Listen it’s pricy, but BUT!!!! the flavor that the sauce puts on those rice cakes makes it worth every penny. I add two fried eggs to mine, I think it needs the egg to break up the texture and flavor of the dish but oh my lord it’s delicious. I could eat those chewy rice cakes all day long. Presentation isn’t pretty because it’s all one blob at the end of cooking but who cares? It’s delicious!

I personally really didn't like it. The flavor was eeh and spicy for me. I couldn't finish it.
