Hauppauge WinTV-Nova-S2 01676 USB TV Tuner HD Digital Satellite Television DVB-S2 and DVB-S for Laptop or PC

This is the best satellite TV tuner that I've used; I currently have a Hauppauge Win TV dual HD stick, which is excellent, and the software is excellent too, especially for setting up. However, I recommend Next PVR software if you intend to use it with Kodi, as they have an app to use with Kodi. The Nova is beautifully built and, using Hauppauge's software, will automatically take you to the correct satellite for the UK, so it's a matter of confirming you want to let it find all the available channels. I then unchecked them all, and added the stations i want to use. Other TV tuner software I have used makes you choose the correct satellite, which isn't difficult, but it's a nice touch from Hauppauge, especially for someone new to TV, sticks or cards. Over the years, I've had a few internal TV cards and still do. The beauty of these USB sticks is that you can plug them into another laptop or desktop, provided they have the right software. I'm definitely going to buy another one of these Novas as well as another Win TV Duel. Yes, I watch and record a lot of TV. I want to comment on the odd bad reviews. If you can't find the activation code or the plug is a URO, send it back to Amazon, or take it up with Hauppauge; this is a great product and doesn't deserve a bashing.

Got this setup on a small 2.5 inch cube computer and the Freesat is working a dream! Only issue I have with the app is I can’t get the Electronic program guide to show what’s on! I’ve got it on windows 10 and windows 11 and still no epg! In saying that it’s no big deal just a bit annoying!

Got this working on my raspberry pi 3b+ with TVheadend would’ve been five stars but did not came without a UK plug as stated

dont buy this, its a scam. you hazve to make further purchases to use this and3 they dont send out the keys after purchase, complete crap. dont waste your time here.

Excellent would buy again

I intended this as a TV server for Raspberry Pi 4. The product received was marked "Revision BAH9" and I was unable to get it recognised by the Pi after closely following Hauppauge's own website instructions. The online instructions say they refer to product Revisions B7H9/B8H9 and B6H9 or earlier. So clearly this newer version does NOT currently work with the Pi. I decided to keep it anyway as:a) Hauppauge may update instructions at a later date,b) it does work well with Windows (used other PVR software so can't comment on WinTV),c) USB DVB-S tuners are becoming as rare as hens teeth and may disappear from the market in future.I tried reaching out Hauppauge Tech Support. A guy in America replied saying they couldn't do anything there due to different TV standards. I referred my query to UK support. That was a week ago and I've yet to hear anything at all from them - not even an acknowledgement.Hence 3 stars. If you need it just for Windows, it is fine.UPDATE: I did finally hear from Hauppauge and their Linux developer. But their suggested solution I had effectively already tried, and did not work a second time - I tried it on a fresh install of Raspbian just in case there was a specific issue with my system. Whether a fix might be issued in the future was not addressed by Hauppauge as the existence of a problem was not acknowledged. So with inconclusive contact from Hauppauge and return time running out, on reflection I have decided to return the product.
