87610 Lighted 5" Round Magnifier

I'm an inventory clerk with a type of congenital macular degeneration (pathologic myopia). As an inventory clerk in a manufacturing plant, I spend my time reading a lot of long lists of part numbers without much context to help interpret what I'm reading, numbers which I absolutely must get right. This item has a large and precise enough viewing field that I can lay it on my clipboard and leave the clipboard on my cart while I work. I had been making errors due to the way straight lines of text seem to bend now and was rechecking my work excessively. I feel that using this viewer has helped get both my speed and accuracy in kitting jobs back closer to what they should be, though I'll never be as fast as I was a few years ago again. I did end up putting a very flat rubber bumpon/foot on the handle end to keep it in place better while I drive the cart around since it's very smooth, but outside of that minor modification it's been what I wanted. Adding a molded depression + optional rubber foot/feet might be a good option for the maker of this item if they're looking for a place to make improvements. Am planning to get a second viewer so I can read smaller labels more easily without losing my place on the sheet.

I ordered this magnifier 3 days ago & I just received it today, I'm very pleased with this item. The lens allows for a very wide area to be viewed easily & its crystal clear the entire 5" diameter no blurriness at all. The magnifier comes with one AAA battery which once you remove the plastic wrapping around it the LED light is bright & it increases your ability for use a home or office setting. It also has a small area 6X bifocal for that little extra area of help. This will greatly help me at work reading blueprints w/o causing eyestrain. I highly recommend this magnifier to any & all who are looking for a little extra help reading at a very reasonable price...Well worth the money.

Things have a way of disappearing around my house. I had an excellent magnifying ruler in my home office and one day I could not find it. The local office supply store did not have what I was seeking, and when that happens, I go to Amazon. My previous magnifying rule had some distortion in it and did not wear well. No distortion in the magnification on this one. It is made of some type of optical plastic, I think, and the image is very clear. I would have liked it to be a bit longer, but this does the job very well. It has a bright center line to assist in lining up the rows of data that I am entering. It is highly recommended.

Nice, large magnifying glass. The built-in 6x bifocal lens is handy for extreme closeups, such as attempting to read the markings on antique silverware. The only quibble I have is that the handle is relatively small. The single LED bulb is in the base of the handle, and it feels like a nice ergonomic grip for the index finger. If I don't think about it, I wind up wrapping my finger over the light, which doesn't work too well if you need it to see. Other people have done the same thing, not realizing they are covering up the light. That said, it is very light weight, so it's still easy to hold after moving one's finger off the light.

The magnifier is very good at improving the visibility of small print. It is good for seeing fine detail. The large size makes it easy to use for reading and is sharp across the entire face. The LED adds some light to make it easier to read and the battery is easy to replace. The handle is a little short and my finger will sometimes block the light, but this is a minor distraction. It is too large to carry outside the house, but is light enough (it is plastic) to use frequently and for a long period of time. The large size is a big plus for reading and also works well on small items like stamps. The higher-power circle works well for occasional use, but is small and not as effective as a dedicated high-power magnifier. This magnifier is a very good value with fine performance at a very reasonable price.

At first I didn/t think it had enough magnification power, but after using it a while the magnification is just right. I like the built in light, it helps in darker situations. Feels good in your hand, balances well. Well made. Like I said I can't believe how many times I've used it, from reading tiny writing on pill boxes, magnifying messages on my phone, to enlarging items on my computer screen.

I got one of these for myself and my sister liked it so well I got one for her, too. We both read magazines, journals and books with varying fonts and type sizes. We particularly like the red line that runs the length of this magnifying ruler, which makes it easier to keep the bar aligned with the line of text as we read. I had gotten a smaller one - two inches shorter and found it quite useless because you have to move the bar side to side as you read down the page. the MIghty Bright's 8" accommodates the width of all books other than over-sized books. I think the magnification is 2x, which is sufficient in most cases.

This is very useful for my knitting. It magnifies and underlines the part of a pattern or chart I’m working from and gives measurements too. The handle makes it easy to hold and it has a useful amount of weight to it, so it doesn’t move around when I don’t want it to. I’ll have to wait and see about durability, though I’ve dropped it three times onto a wooden floor with no problems.
