Fish trapped
This is an excellent trap, easy put together and can then be taken down again and stored away. I placed mirror in the back of it and we had the cautious Tang within 24hr trapped on the first time he was seen in it. Had tried another more experience glass trap for over a week which had to go on the sand bed due to its weight and the door just jammed all the time open or just was so slow to close and on the only occasion he was seen in it that week the door was so slow closing even a giant turbo snail could have crawled out before it shut... But this trap was epic and it was down in the flash and the tang was off to his new home hours later.I did have to modify this trap just slightly by just using a Dremel on the glue blob and the excess thread of the plastic screw but it only took seconds as this did catch leaving the door half opened on it 50% of the time when testing it out of the water. This I was aware of in other reviews of this product, but I thought I could over come it which I did.The release mech is very sensitive and if the door moves back and forth in heavy flow it can work it out of the slot and cause the door close so make sure it is in a low flow area. Was half the price on Amazon.com with express shipping from US to UK than on Amazon.co.uk.

Caught the damsel within 24 hours!
Previous reviews have pointed out that the instructions aren't complete and that's a fair observation, however it's also not rocket science to assemble. Each piece comes wrapped in a protective film which takes a while to peal off and then you insert the tabs into slots. The thick rubber bands hold the tabs in the slots.I used some brine shrimp in the feeding tube to entice the damsel inside. He came in and out a few times before I felt comfortable lowering the door. Perfect! I'd recommend finding a way to route the string for the door in a way that allows you to lower it without the fish seeing the movement and allowing it to operate up and down without binding.

Works great with some fine tuning.
The media could not be loaded. I’ll start by saying this trap DOES work. Some fish swim right into it, tangs, clownfish, wrasses, like fish in a barrel, so easy…Some smarter fish take a little more time to trust the situation. Leave the trap in the tank for a day or so to get the fish used to being with it, starve them for a day and then put their favorite food in there and it’s a win.The door could be better, it gets stuck, or lags and that cost me hours trying to catch this Flameback Angel. You kind of have to be right on top of it so the door will drop smoothly, otherwise it will get stuck midway and the fish will escape. It’s literally a piece of fishing line tied to it, looks a little janky but eventually it gets the job done.

Quality made but extremely annoying removing film.
It looks like I am the first review on this product. I ordered this bc the competitors like aqua medic were priced a lot higher then the icecap brand so I went with icecap. I will start off by saying the product is a sturdy nice sleek acrylic that it is fairly easy to put together. I must say taking off the protective film on each piece was a huge huge inconvenience and I would highly reccomemd the company removes it prior. Took me about 10 minutes peeling paper that kept wriping over and over again. I was very pleased with the rubber O bands including to hold the trap together by the latches. The trap was put into the tank without the door and waiting for the fish to get accustomed prior to even trying to catch a pesky powder brown tang. I will update the review as time goes by and would be happy to speak with icecap directly on some of my concerns and feedback. Customer service is everything!

Works great
I love the concept of this product. I have not used it yet. But I’m sure it will catch what I want. With the feed tube. To get fish in.How ever it is held together with little rubber bands. I am going to take silicone to the inside corners to hold it together better. It is very fragile a small piece broke when putting together. As long as you are careful with it. I’m sure you will like it. Best concept I have seen online put it in your tank till fish get used it. While writing this review. I thought I would try it. Took all but 10 minutes and caught one right away 😁

Poorly built
This thing is poorly built and required heavy modification to make it work. The track that the door slides in was too narrow for the door itself to even fit, let alone slide smoothly and quickly. I ended up having to break the track and widen it with a screwdriver, removing chunks of it. Then even with that fixed the door won't close when under water, it's not heavy enough. I added weight using magnets. After several attempts at use, the door would still fail to close properly or get caught at a weird angle. Save your time and build something simpler. I ended up using a different acrylic box with lid, and made it into a trap using the same concept as this one but actually works.

75g or bigger
I wouldn’t use this on a tank smaller than 75 gallons. Maybe place a rock or 2 in give the fish two or three days to see it as another hangout spot and then let the gate drop
