HSK Standard Course 3 - Textbook

This is a great book for anybody who wants to learn HSK3, on their own or with a teacher. The first lesson did give me a bad impression, but if you persist and find a way of work, it pays off. What I usually do is, learn the new vocabulary of the chapter (the beginning sections) and then read the texts. After reading the texts, I will write down the texts with the help of the audio, to practice the characters and find out if there are any characters I don't know/forgot. Then I continue to grammar and exercises. This book allows you to learn HSK3 very fast if you put the time and effort into it. If you spend 3-4 hours a day you can learn HSK3 pretty quickly. I recommend using the workbook as well, in my case I will test my knowledge using the workbook after finishing the textbook, but it could also be used in between lessons. Note, very limited pinyin in this book (only the stories, written separately at the end of each chapter) -- and this is a very good thing! It forces you to use Pleco or other dictionaries in order to find hanzi stroke order/pinyin/intonation. The chance of you remembering it after looking it up is so much greater than just have been given it. I'm very much a fan of this book series and will continue using these to achieve my Chinese language goals :-). If you find this review useful, please don't forget to mark as helpful, thank you :-).

Excellent ouvrage pour préparer le HSK3. Les concepts grammaticaux sont présentés très progressivement ; les dialogues sont amusants ; les exercices sont bien pensés ; la prononciation des locuteurs dans les enregistrements est parfaite. Bref, l'ouvrage idéal pour se préparer à l'examen.

I was a little nervous that this course text might be Mandarin-French, as the description on the Amazon pages was in French. I took the risk because the publisher seemed to be based in the US and the book description said "english". Indeed, the book is Mandarin and english (what I wanted), so I have no idea why the description should be in French!!
