Very Nice Lamp; So-so assembly
I think that this is a very nice lamp for the money. Initially, I was looking into purchasing a similar lamp (with 4 lights) that was about $200 more but am very happy with my decision to get this one instead. I placed this lamp in my living room where there is no ceiling light. The room is about 18.5 x 15 and the lamp is able to provide adequate light using (3) 75 watt equivalent Halogen bulbs (~53 watts usage each). Because I like bright rooms, I did feel the need to add two additional low-wattage lamps at the back of the room to clear up any dark shadows cast in that area since them room doubles as reading/alternative work space. I think that this is a very nice looking lamp. . .and I've only received positive compliments from both friends and family also.Regarding the assembly: I did take the advice of other reviewers and removed the plastic pieces. I am very patient when it comes to things like this but would not recommend this to people who do not have the patience to spend about 20 minutes fumbling with and screwing together loose pieces. I did think of it as an inconvenience but totally expected. I was not very pleased that about 4 of the plastic pieces were quite wedged into the metal part and I had to "scrape" them out--jeopardizing scratching the plastic casing around the wires. So, this is why I gave the product 4 instead of 5. Also, as for the bottom "felted" plate. . .I screwed mine in as far as it would go and this seemed to easily stabilize the piece (on wood floors).Despite the assembly, I would buy it again and am VERY pleased with this purchase.ETA: I forgot to include the heights of each light. On my lamp, they are approximately 63.25 in., 56 in., and 49.5 in. The shades each measure 5.5 inches. Prior to buying the lamp, I was quite concerned about whether or not the bulbs would be noticeable. . .and the lamp would be too short. In my opinion, I think that it is perfect--it doesn't overwhelm the room nor does it looked dwarfed by the size of the room. And unless someone is standing directly over (or near) it, the bulbs are NOT visible.

Great Lamp, BUT here's how to assemble it
Looks quite nice in our bedroom, plugged into the "switched" wall socket, so that it comes on when we flip the wall siitch. Plenty of light (in fact you may want to only use 10W CFL bulbs or 40W regular bulbs max, maybe even less. In fact, you could experiment with really low wattage bulbs; this thing produces a lot of light. Here's some tips on putting this together. As mentioned by others, remove the little 1/4" plastic tabs that are inserted into the end of each tube. There's about 12 of them, and you need a sharp little tool to get them out, maybe a tiny screwdriver, or exacto blade, or something like that. The instructions don't say to do this, but it's way better if these are pulled out for two reasons. One, you will be able to pull excess cord from the bottom when screwing the rods together. Two, the ends of each rod will more snugly fit together, making the rods straighter. But here's the key thing others may not have mentioned: completely remove the felt-covered plate from the bottom of the base. This can be done by putting your palm on it and twisting counterclockwise to unscrew it from the bottom. Keep turning this base plate until it comes off. You will then see the wires and wire nuts under the base, but no problem, when the lamp is standing upright, the wires will not be visible, and the lamp will be much more stable without that crummy felt base plate. That dang thing does nothing but make the lamp wobbley. If you follow these tips, the lamp will take about a half-hour to put together, and it will look just fine.My first lamp arrived with a broken glass fixture, so I returned it using the amazon UPS pick up procudure, they sent a new one even before I got first one back to them. So, once you get past these hurdles, you've got a great lamp.

Love it!
First of all, I can't thank previous reviewers enough for explaining about the little clear plastic pieces that need to be removed in order to put the lamp together. It took me about 50 minutes from unpacking to putting the light bulbs in. The hardest part was removing those little plastic pieces when they were stuck inside. I used a very small screwdriver, another reviewers idea, and that worked. Also one of the glass pieces has a very tiny chip in it. It's not enough to return it. I just used that one on top and faced it to the back. No one will see it. I didn't think it was hard to put together. I just laid it out on carpeting and one by one screwed the poles together. Also, as embarrassing as this sounds, I didn't know what the socket ring was. The instructions just say "Place the glass shade on the glass holder and secure with socket ring." I looked all over for the socket rings thinking I was missing parts! Then I realized the socket rings are already on and I had to unscrew them, take them off, put the glass on and then screw them back on to hold the glass in place. All in all, it wasn't hard to put together. My brother had this lamp at his house and I loved it. I came home researched it and it was the least expensive on Amazon, so I purchased it and now 2 weeks later, it's even less expensive. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't price match. The lamp is perfect in a corner next to my couch. It gives off a lot of light but not too much and it's soft because of the amber glass. I love the simple design and it feels well made. For me, it's great and I love it!
