Great for pore filling a guitar.
Fantastic product. Used for pore fill on a mahogany electric guitar. Worked great in the Florida sun. Cured in 2 minutes flat.

Wonderful lacquer finish!
It lays down real good with a soft brush I finished a guitar body with SOLAREZ a Came out nice. You have to know what light to use it in. Save the uv light until it’s finished

Saves soooo much time, and it is hard to screw up!!!
Awesome product. What I really like is that you can control the "sheen" depending on how many coats you add and how you sand/finish the topcoat. If I had one thing to notice is that, if you do not need the product in a hurry, perhaps it is better if you order directly from the manufacturer. Why? PRICE! the same Pint (16oz) is about $15 cheaper if you order directly from Solarez. Of course, you have to factor shipping cost considering the amazon "prime" shipping. But still for the $$ you save ordering directly from Solarez, it seems you can purchase more product for the money. Notwithstanding, it same plenty of time when you consider using this product against the typical process of using grain sealers, then fillers, then top coats, etc., etc. If the finish proves to be durable, I am not sure I will go back to my previous methods of finishing wood. :))

Simple test of the Grain Filler product.
1. It's expensive for the volume you receive, and the suggested application is four coats. 2. I did a simple test: rub some on a portion of a scrap piece of wood and place in the sunlight for 5 minutes. It did feel dry to the touch. Interestingly (a) the portion of wood that received the product was noticeably warmer to the touch (2 def F using a infrared thermometer) indicating what I would believe would be an exothermic reaction (not a chemist) and (2) I dropped beads of water on the area that received the product (no absorption) and on areas where the product was not applied (almost immediate absorption)... this would point towards a very positive result! 3. No smell per se, but I maybe have the worst sniffer in the world. :-)

I used both grain sealers
I started using grain sealer because HD wasn't really cutting it for the wood department. I purchased both major brands of the grain sealer and this one definitely works perfect. For those who don't know, this will help smooth out wood grain and help with a glassy smooth feel. It's definitely some extra steps but it brings your wood working to the next level.

Sets very quick
This is a little tricky to get used to, but sets very quick and very hard surface. Excellent product, but does have some smell.

DO NOT use ON YOUR GUITAR.
If this dosent cure like mine didnt your guitar is ruined, i used this product on a $50 dollar guitar out of precaution and so glad i did. this product stayed soft like wax and i could not get it out of the wood grain, you cant rub it off because it just roles and clogs the paper i even tried paint thinner amongst other stuff, 1 guitar ruined , my advice is dont risk it because there is no going back.

Does what is says it will do
Used it for a scroll saw project before painting. Applied 4 coats as directed. It really does do an excellent job makes the wood, glass smooth paint looks great on it. It is pricey in my opinion but very little is needed after the 1st coat

This product does exactly what it says on the tin. Very fast cure time with no slime. I am able to sand with no problems. I recommend a UV/black light of at least 20W power which I use to great effect. The only issue I have is that this stuff may not have any VOCs, but it stinks.
