Perfect for young drivers (and older ones)
Firstly, it’s worth making sure you’re looking at the right one as there are two very similar Mini Coopers for sale - one is a smaller 1:24 scale version whereas this one is the bigger 1:18 scale car. This is the one to have!I bought this for my youngest daughter after she put an RC car on her Christmas list. She loves it but I confess that I eagerly await her going to bed at night so I can rally it around myself! This little Mini is a great indoor RC car. Quick but not not too fast for the young-uns but also has a motor torquey enough to perform wheelspins, drifts, donuts and handbrake turns on a shiny floor - great fun! It also runs well on carpet and has enough clearance to drive over small bumps. It takes 4 AA batteries in the car and 2 AAs in the controller. Surprisingly, the batteries last for a good long time! The car was basically hammered for hours after it was opened and even on a really cheapy set of AAs, it happily drove around for hours. The controller has sticks rather than separate buttons which makes tricks easier to pull off - one of the reasons I bought this particular car. It’s not a proportional controller - all functions are on or off - left/right and forwards/backwards. This is perfectly fine for this price-point and to be expected. It has both front and rear lights - the headlights come on when driving forwards and the rear lights when reversing (which if you’re using reverse to slow down makes it look like brake lights). They’re decently bright LEDs so it looks pretty cool driving in the dark! The body is pretty well detailed and proportioned making it look convincing. The shell is made of durable plastic and has survived hundreds of skirting-board shunts without any breakages. The build quality is good overall, with the only weak-point being the way the motor and rear-wheels are mounted to the chassis. Unfortunately the car was driven under someone’s feet and it was lightly stepped on. All seemed well until today where the car noticeably slowed and I found that the rear wheels were touching the wheel arches and the whole axle was loose. Luckily, I’m fairly good with a set of screwdrivers (and being stepped on means any warranty is void anyway), so I removed the body to find that all three motor mounting points had sheared off. Still, a bit of superglue between the chassis and the motor case and all is well again! Inside, it’s better made than most cheapies on the market and both the steering and drive motors are quite beefy. For the price, it’s a great little fun RC car that’s pretty well built and looks nice. Very little to fault!

Very Good RC Car
This is a nice, quite solid, responsive RC car, we've bought some ten quid ones in the past and they last ten minutes, this looks like it will keep going, is well manufactured and looks good. Plays well. We like it, my seven year old really likes it.

Cars you cannot race.
Purchased two cars for grand children, living at same address, why did it not say they were only operational from one frequency. So we have two cars controlled from one controller. A cheap door bell has 4 frequencies to choose from. Remote controlled mini coopers you cannot race. Even my six year old grandchild thought that was a dum idea, and he did not know I paid £50 for them. Reason to buy from a shop and not be mislead.

Very cool looking Mini!
What a cool looking remote control car! It’s really detailed and really smart. Both the headlights and the rear lights light up and it is really very fast indeed. The tyres are made of rubber and it looks just like a proper car.We took it out onto come tarmac and it will go a long way away (and did I mention it was fast!). It’s easy to control, my 8 year old finds it straightforward. Would make a fabulous Christmas present. I was offered this item at a discount for my honest, unbiased review.
