Not recommended by itself unless doing more upgrades
Fit in my 2004.5 Chevy Duramax LLY perfect. I pared this with the S&B cold air intake and they fit great. Everything is STOCK on my truck except the intake and turbo mouthpiece. I had some overheating issues while towing during the summer (2017). I called S&B and they said this will help keep the engine cooler. Theoretically the cooler and more air going into the engine, the cooler the engine. So I installed this after our last camping trip. I'm hoping it will help keep the engine cool.Installation was a breeze. The instructions are perfect and the pictures are great. If you have a socket set with some extensions and a screwdriver you can install this.If you think you will get better fuel mileage, you might be right but you also might not. Keep in mind that I installed this AND the intake... After about 20 tanks of fuel I have only noticed a tiny difference. I got 16-18 MPG stock and about 16-20 after. At 1-2 MPG difference it's going to take A LOT of fuel to recoup the cost of the intake. Thinking you will get better fuel economy should not be a factor in buying this, but you can tell your wife it is so she gives you permission.Between the intake and the turbo mouthpiece there is a noticeable power increase, but it's not huge. The mouthpiece was deliver before the intake, so I did install it and run it with the stock intake for about a week. Even by itself there was a noticeable power increase, but not huge. It won't make your truck roll coal or anything spectacular like that. It's more noticeable than the fuel economy boost though. There was a slight difference in the engine sound. I'm not one that really cares about this sort of thing, but some people do. I live on a busy rural street and I hate it when big loud trucks come by.The only downside to this is the COST $$$! $200 for a short section of pipe! I know it's more than just a section of pipe, but holy crap that's a lot of money. Coupled with the intake it cost $500!All in all, if you are having issues I would recommend this. If you are looking just for a performance boost, I would not recommend this by itself. It was a lot to spend, and not a huge performance boost. But if you are going to do more performance upgrades I would start with this, then the intake, and then whatever else you want. However, if it helps me keep the engine cool so I don't breakdown on the side of the freeway with a trailer behind me, it's worth every penny.P.S. I will try to remember to update this in the summer of 2018 about the engine cooling. If no update, it probably helped.

Good purchase would buy again
Very nice finish and material. Mp came very fast. Installation took about 15 minutes. Didn't change the sound to much but pickups running about 10-15 degrees cooler. Definitely made the truck more responsive and spool was faster. Also trucks not working so hard getting air. Worth the buy in my opinion. Gotta see if affects mileage

Hopefully getting better mpg and power.
Arrived a day early, had a little trouble putting the PCV hose on it, had to bend the driver side tubing a little to get it to fit, looks great, did not rate the mileage yet, haven't driven my truck any distance to see what the mileage is, haven't pulled my camper yet either to see if there is any difference, hopefully I will get better mileage and HP from it. Been a few months now, have noticed improved fuel mileage, better acceleration and better towing! Highly recommend installing one of these on your Diesel engine !

Very easy installation. For the price and easy installation
Very easy installation. For the price and easy installation, most any performance improvement will make this a good investment.

Went on super easy, just follow the instructions
2005 LLY DuramaxIf you have an LLY, this is a must do upgrade. Went on super easy, just follow the instructions. Took less than an hour. Truck is far more responsive and the turbo will spool much quicker on the lower end. Noticed a slight sound change and i can hear the turbo whistle a little better. You dont have to do a PCV reroute, but if you want to, this product comes wiht aplug to put into the mouthpiece where the PCV connects. Saves you a few bucks having to buy one elsewhere.

its great
I got this and filter 75-3058 s and b for my 2005 duramax lly. This worked very well definitely add some acceleration from a stand still. I would definitely recommend if you have a lly duramax. Don't know about any mileage boost but helped throttle response. Easy install give yourself an hour and a half and you'll have plenty of time. That's with the intake

Nice Add On The Will Help Your Turbo Breath Better
I had to install a new Fuel Pressure Regulator on a Duramax LLY which requires you to remove almost everything on top of the engine to get to it including the Turbo Mouthpiece, so I did some research and looked at things I could do to improve my MPG and Performance since I had the engine torn apart, and this was one of the most recommended addon.I have noticed more power and my engine is running cooler, I cannot report any fuel mileage but I suspect I will gain maybe 1 or 2 MPG on the interstate.I do plan on adding the S&B Cold Airbox next.

Check engine will come on
Easy to install but as soon as i tested it out i got the check engine light on showing a p0238 code and haven't been able to find the problem. Followed all instructions so now i don't know what to do. Have to take it to a mechanic now
