Inspiring the high tech maker space
This is a tremendous book. The author covers the latest research on hands-on learning, especially in the area of tech, and provides invaluable resources in terms of specific equipment, materials, and companies. The maker spaces described in this book are high-tech versus some of the more arts and crafts maker space versions. Coding, robotics, and 3-D printing take center stage, as does the use of sophisticated tools. This book describes the development of the maker spaces necessary to provide students with technologically advanced, real-world skills. Any educator desiring such a space will find this book completely practical, useful and inspiring.

The "bible" for a reason.
As a college educator I was trying to get my mind around the maker movement and to help foster this effort in a middle school where I volunteer and in the college classroom. The authors provide rich context for putting current efforts in the context of design - and a wealth of practical advice. This is a fantastic read.

Awesome!
I was looking for a good introduction to Makers movement in schools and I found thins great book. Full of theoretical and practical advise, this is what I was looking for. Finishing the book I understood why it is called "The bible". Some links should be updated, but ideas are still great.
