Love!
I bought it my first time in February of 2024. I followed the directions and it didnt seem soft enough to mold correctly. I had to try a couple times. Then it finally was able to stay on with my mouth opened. I did have a fear of swallowing it because it is pretty small but it worked perfectly during the duration of the whole year before breaking into two pieces. I love it so much I had to buy the same one again. I how slender and sleek it is and how it can costume fit. I just bought a replacement and today instead of the microwave method I decided to take a chance and boil it pot of water placing it upside for a few minutes and it worked perfectly it was soft enough to mold very easily. The directions are clear and easy and product is good quality for the price.

Stick with DenTek's Professional night guard
After quite a few years using the DenTek Professional-Fit Dental Guard for Nighttime Teeth Grinding, I decided to give their slimmer, less obtrusive "Ultimate" night guard a try. Needless to say, I didn't even get a chance to give it a run for its intended use, as the fitting process "ultimate"-ly defeated me.For those who don't want to read further, go with DenTek's "Professional" night guard, I wholeheartedly recommend that after years of use. For those who are curious about my experience, and how it may affect them, read on:The problems started almost immediately. After the proscribed boiling of water, the guard, still in its tray, was placed in that hot water for 3m30s. Upon removal, the guard was not pliant at all. It felt just a solid and hard as before. With this in mind, I repeated that step again, after which the guard seemed pliant enough and I began fitting. This is where I encountered the second problem– the tray and guard are MUCH narrower than the "Professional" guard by the same company. Although it appears that the tray should "flex" to fit the width of your mouth, in my case in never did. Despite my efforts to mitigate this, the outside of my teeth were in contact with the tray itself, with pliant guard being pushed inwards. This resulted in a quarter circle instead of a U shape cupping the teeth. As such, after the recommended fitting time the guard refused to cling to my teeth.Per the instructions, I returned to Step 1, put the guard and tray into the boiling water, and the guard immediately fell out of the tray. I gave it one more go but, by this point, the guard had shrunk and was curling in on itself so that it wouldn't fit in the tray anymore. This is the point where I gave up.For good or ill, I am an old hand at fitting DenTek's Professional guards, and have never had a problem with fitting (only one or two times needing a second go to get the fit right). I had high hopes for the Ultimate guard, but must heartily recommend against it.

Don't give up! Try until you get it right
This is a perfect nighttime mouth guard. I'm on my 3rd one, and hope they never stop making them! Each time I open a new one, it takes me two tries to get a correct fit, because I either don't get it soft enough or I don't bite down hard enough. It's worth it to keep trying! A good fit will prevent the guard from falling off your upper teeth, like others have complained about. I also love that it isn't bulky like the whole-mouth guards are.

Hard to Reform, Not getting good fit
Not so easy to use. Following the instruction, my first try of the guard was not so comfortable, so I boiled water and try to reform it again. But didn’t expect it shrinks everytime I boil it! Which I was following the instruction! So ended up I was only able to use it one time and would not be able to use it 2nd time…

better than dentist made
I hate night guards passionately. I've had a few professionally made over the years and bought this only when I lost mine when on vacation. I am used to having the thing in my mouth after wearing night guards for the last 7 years, but my gums and teeth are always a bit uncomfortable. Anyway, this guard is easy to make if you follow the instructions (I've made 2 so far) and nice and small in your mouth. I definitely recommend it. I don't plan to get one made again at the dentist until they come up with something new.
