SWITCHBLADE: Fallen Empire book 1

The US went into bankruptcy (along with Japan, Australia, and Europe), and China became the dominant country along with the oil rich nations of the Middle East. A story from a hundred years plus in the future where mech (robotic add-ons to the human body) is the norm. The richest person on the planet is the emperor of China and faces unrest from a number of factions. The main characters are the bodyguard of the son of the emperor and a computer operator that monitors the equivalent of the web used in and around Hong Kong. Could make a pretty good movie.

Characters were great. Tons of action. I felt like I was watching a movie. A continuation of the characters would be great.

If I hadn't been distracted by editing that looked like an non-English speaking flunkie did the proof read, it would have gotten 5 stars. Sorry the author had to rely on poor professional standards.

I bought this book to get insight on playing cybered up characters who are bodyguards for a game I play in. It showed how tough an enhanced person can be, and still have limits. Overall the story was good. Ending kinda surprised me the direction the author took.

Really liked this book for all the action. Fast read. Great concept and looking forward to next one as soon as possible

What is “sewerage”? Interesting story but proofreaders and editors need to be replaced. Many many errors induction, spelling, grammar, etc. A story is only as strong as its mechanics. AGL

I am always on the look out for new authors and this author is a gem. I could not put this down and each page took me further into a new and exciting world. It’s a full-on adrenaline ride through a crazy future that seems all too real. Hong Kong is brilliantly described - you can almost feel the humidity and the madness of a city with 58 million people. And Ziyi is a kick ass, take no nonsense, get the job done type of heroine. I am so looking forward to the next book.

I love a bit of alternate reality - though having China be the future world power might not be that far fetched 😀 Well written as always with strong characters and fast action. Love me a bit of Mike Morris and this is no exception

This book is the epitome of a story that gallops along at a cracking pace. Good heroes. Bad baddies. Good story and well written. Who could want more.
