I was very pleased about the quality of brass & workmanship. The size is perfect for the center piece of my nautical collection. I tried to show the size compared to other items I purchased through Amazon. Just remember the orb is sitting closest to the wall back about 4" from the small orb in front. I hope this is helpful to anyone thinking about purchasing this item. It's not perfect in engraving but you're not paying the price that you'd pay either.

I am quite disappointed because this is actually a great product, the craftmanship is amazing, the weight of it is heavy, this was a great job. Unfortunately my product came in two separate pieces, the base and the orb. I thought maybe I would have to attach them myself, but there was no possible way for me to do that since both poles of the sphere and the top part of the base didn't connect. I would have returned the item and purchased a new one but I don't live in the States and it would be more expensive if I did decide to do that. It's currently gathering dust in my storeroom.
