I guess it's all in the you get what you pay for mentality
I love these. They are very expensive for what they are. I've bought several colors. The 1 inch and 1-1/2 inch are both great, and are perfect for a 11 discbound binder/notebook/planner. I LOVE the bold blues, purples (lavender), and reds. The pink was not so much a pink as a very pale, soft pinkish/pale-pale soft orange mixture if that makes sense ... where as, I was hoping it was a pink like all the other bold colors, even if it's a softer version like the lavender-purple one is, and at least the way it's shown in the picture, but not so much. The paper and binder moves freely with ease whenever you turn the pages, or open the book, or fold it over. The color seems to hold well. I've only had mine for a few months, and I'm not very hard on them, but it doesn't seems to scratch, chip, or peel for the medium light use I give it. It's very nice quality, so you get what you pay for I guess. I bought these for my Martha Stewart 11 discbound planner/notebook/binder I purchased at office max which has the whole line on a clearance sale pricing, and I use them for my garden journals, notebooks, and another one for a monthly calendar, etc., and since that was quality with the Martha Stewart ensembles including paper, dividers, etc., I wanted to complete them with quality discs, as they came with cheap plastic ones that did begin to scratch, chip, and peel, and that was to just put them together. That was the disappointment on the Martha Stewart line. So if you like quality, you will love these and not care about the cost. I did buy multiples of some of the colors, and in different sizes, so the majority of them I bought directly from Lavenger's website online as it was a bit cheaper then buying them from Lavenger here on Amazon. If you love quality, you will love these discs.

Will buy more, but not a necessity for discbound systems. They are more of a luxury.
I have half a dozen disc bound planners and notebooks. This is my first set of Aluminum discs. All of my other discs are black plastic from Staples Arc Line. Arc discs are very functional and affordable at less than $5 a set. I do find the pages slide very easily on the Levenger Aluminum Disks. I notice no weight difference between plastic and aluminum. I have wanted these for a long time but found it hard to justify the price. I will buy more because I love using discbound note books for everything and know I will use these for years. But, unless you just want to treat yourself to something special, you are not going to get that much improvement over the super affordable Arc discs.

Love!
Exactly what i was looking for. I have a mini happy planner and I needed to expand my planner and these were great. They are durable and look great. The only problem was that the levenger discs are thicker than the mambi discs. Therefore the pages didn't flip smoothly. I bought the levenger punch and re punched my pages and everything works as it should. Definitely recommend!

You won't regret purchasing these!
These work SO much better than the Martha Stewart plastic ones that came with my discbound notebook! They slide very nicely and make a huge difference in the ease of turning the pages.

Great Upgrade Option.
The aluminum Circa discs are a great upgrade for your Circa or Staples ARC customizable system binders. They aren't necessary for function but are aesthetically pleasing. I have purchased the silver, bronze, and Kyoto versions; and I do like them all. They are a bit pricey but Levenger does, occasionally, have them on sale.

Smooth gliding performance and ample space for daily planner.
Smooth, true to size. Levenger's products are top notch. These discs allow the paper to glide just a little smoother as pages are turned. The 1 " size is perfect for my monthly planner (about 100 pages), allowing for more pages than the standard 3/4 size.

Visual pop and functionally superior
They are visually appealing and they allow smoother movement of the pages than did the plasticversion.
