This is wonderful and works for YEARS!
Sorry to contradict "Jeffrey", but this IS a metal file with PERMANENT diamond flakes on it. I just received this and it is EXACTLY the same one I bought in S*phora 10 years ago (for a bit more $) and lost at a wedding last month. I can't live without this file--it is so thin that it goes nicely under your nails and it had not lost its "edge" in all the ten years I had it. THAT alone is amazing and worth the price! It comes in a flexible plastic sleeve and travels very well--just don't leave it in the bride's dressing room--everyone there loved this file as well! PS I also bought a new style glass file just to compare and while I really like the fact that it was pretty in a nice hard case and you can actually buff the surface of your nails with that one; it is definitely not thin. You will love this Diamancel nail file for years to come. Trust me, do not EVER buy a crappy cardboard disposable so-called emery board again!

Oh this is a fabulous file
The only file I've found in all my years that doesn't damage my nails. Wow. Too bad it took me so long to decide to invest in this nail file, my nails truly 'like' it, they're not as strong as they once were, and every single other kind of file rips them to shreds. I finally decided to pay the $20 or so and buy this, and it's made all the difference in the world in how my nails look. No rips, no shreds, no hangnails, no blood, just nice even natural nails. To clean, you just take a soft nail brush or something similar and go over the file to get the residue off of it - let it dry for a few minutes - you're good to go. I recommend this file highly. I have the #2 which is probably for 'normal' nails, but I find that the #1 works best for my nails at this point. Excellent product, worth every cent.

For many, many years I've had fragile, problematic nails, so I was hesitant about spending $30 for a nail file. OMG, what an amazing file. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another to carry with me, so I certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend purchasing this for anyone whose had nail problems.

Smooth finish
This nail file provides the smoothest finish to my nails that I have ever had. It is best used as a finishing file. Although it does a beautiful job, it takes a while to correct chips or breaks in a nail because the surface of the file is so fine. I use a #2 file to smooth out unevenness or breaks.

Love it, but SO expensive.
The media could not be loaded. I bought the #1 as I was recovering from a bad allergy to Gel on my nails. They were thin and damaged for 6 months. As they grew out, I found I need a #2 now for my natural recovered nails. These are very nice though. Makes a smooth edge without damaging your skin on the backside. I had way less snagging and tearing after filing my nails with these. Also, because the back is smooth, they are very comfortable to use for the ticklish people, like my husbands toes. Note: they are thin and flexible. Easy to clean and disinfect.

Smooth nails, no snags.
I bought files #1 fine, #2 medium, and #3 coarse. They are expensive, but well worth the cost. My nails are natural, no polish or other product. Number 3 quickly removes the nail edges, #2 shapes the edges, and #1 smooths the edges. These are the most perfect files I've ever used. Every other file always left snags, these don't. I definitely recommend them.
