Great price + Effective/Accurate little Thermometer
We just got a bearded dragon and have been upgrading our outfit to make his home a safe and comfy one.I got a couple of these - one to put on the cool side of the tank since we already had one by the basking section - and a spare.I tested these new ones out in the hottest point - right under the mercury vapor UVB basking lamp - and the dials went to 110 degrees matching the other thermometer we had already. Then I brought them out to two places in the house where we have thermometers that always have different readings. I let them settle in these two places and the temperature readings reflected the same numbers as these two other thermometers. After that I considered them good enough for my needs. I popped the one on the cool side of the tank where it reads a pretty consistent 80 degrees and dropped the other in the pet drawer for emergencies or our next set up. I was so pleased I also ordered a couple more to have on hand in case. I would rather be safe than sorry and these are such a good price it doesn't hurt to have a couple - just like an extra basking bulb and ceramic heat bulb.Pros:Price: $3.99 is dirt cheap. You cannot eat McDonalds for $3.99.Accuracy: Mine both are quite accurate as mentioned above.Functionality: The sticker works fine. Make sure you clean the side of your tank with a swipe of alcohol and let it dry before you affix the sticker. (Obviously be cautious around your animal - don't let them breathe the fumes!)Cons: The sticker is inferior to the velcro on my other thermometer. If and when I remove this I am guessing that I will have to razor blade off the sticker and when I do I plan to replace it with a sticky velcro dot. Easier to remove that and you can take off the meter as needed for cleaning, testing, replacement, etc. Still this is $3.99. I cannot complain about the sticker as things stand.Bottom Line: Be smart. Test your unit(s) out carefully. But honestly I would do that with ANY equipment no matter the cost. And again, the cost on this is fantastic. With the meter being accurate as a dial meter can be, it is well suited to my needs and I recommend you give it a shot. At worst case you can mail it back to Amazon free if it is broken. Hurray Amazon Prime!

Works great
I have not had these very long, but they are working good so far. I got two of these thermometers. One for the cold side and one for the warm side of my snakes terrarium. The person that got the one that just stayed on 57 degress or what ever must have just got a bad one, because mine reads perfect. I tested them before putting them in the terrarium. I put them on the kitchen counter and within a minute or two they read the exact temp that my house was set on. Good in my book. Also, the double sided sticky tape it comes with is very strong. The guy that said his fell off probably didn't clean the surface he applied it to. However I advise you go and get some Velcro strips, that way you can remove and replace when necessary for cleaning. I wish I had done that. Save the money on more expensive digital and fancy ones and just go with this one, it works just fine.

Great item, good features for no frills price
lightweight and seems pretty accurate. I bought 3 of these to help me gauge the temp in the bedrooms when the central forced air heat is on. I bought the matching hygrometers with them so I will make a little mount on the wall, kind of like a analog weather/room station. All three were identical in their result so that's a plus for consistency.PROS:- lightweight but sturdy enough- easy to read gauge- comes with mounting tape- has small channels in back for the air to reach the hole- I like the color code, great for quick glancingCons:- depends on the price you get it for. Excellent if you get it for about the 5 range...I've seen these online and in store for almost double that. Depending on your application, you can get fancier at that higher price.- bigger diameter than some of the other designs but this is not a deal breaker in my view. The plus is you can see what the gauge says without binoculars or a mag glass....not good if you looking for a low profile.Again, I used this for a different purpose and was surprised at how well it worked for me.

Worked well for my cage.
I purchased this a few months ago for my reptile cage and so far it's works well. I admit I was concerned at first due to its seemingly flimsy design, but I put it up in my reptile cage anyway and it's still operating as it should. I keep it on the warm side of my reptile cage because it gets too hot at times and sometimes the heat can even cause sticky tabs to peel and fall. I am surprised to see that the sticky tab that came with it not only endures the heat of the heat lamp but it can hold the weight of a curious large lizard (3 ft)as it attempts to use it to climb the walls. After all this poor thing has gone through it still works like a charm and is well worth it to buy.

Good, but longevity not guaranteed
i would say, go digital. These are fairly accurate thermometers however if dropped in water or rattled around too much they can get stuck in the same spot for ever. This can be bad because you may think your reptile or whatever your keeping has the correct temps and it may not.Digital thermometers with a probe on the end i would say would be your best bet.The digitals are only about $8 so i'd say thats much more worth while than one of these. Also once applied to glass they make a sticky mess on terrarium walls if you ever need them to be removed. One last note, the hygrometer (humidity guage) of the same make i would not recommend at all.I've had a couple and they fall into the water and get stuck at 70%,60%,etc forever. If you cannot tell if your herp or reptile has enough humidity i simply suggest you mist their enclosure as needed.
