Hello! Yes you can cook beans, lentils and other grains in Sakura. We have put guidance in the manual for this.

Does it cook Chinese soup?

Hello! I'm not sure what you are referring to with Chinese soup. However, Sakura has a soup function which can be used for any kind of soup. It also has a porridge function that can be used for congee/rice porridge (and marks on the inner bowl for this as well).

Is it possible to buy a replacement bowl?

Never used Bamboo, but I can tell you that my husband who is the chef in our household uses the rice cooker at least twice a week the rice always comes out just right, light fluffy and not sticky, even had a go at making sponge cake in it as well, which surprisingly turned out very well.
