9 Years Old, Still works great!!
As I was using my Pivot today to clean up a cereal spill in the kitchen, I realized I have had this productive long time. I looked it up in my orders on Amazon, and it turns out I got it in 2016!I was amazed! This vac has been great, especially with regard to reliability and durability over the past 9 years.String suction, always charged and ready, and well built. I definitely give this product my highest recommendation!

Compact and Powerful
I have used Black and Duster hand held vacs for the past 39 yrs. I bought this model bc years ago the company sent me one as as a replacement for another model. It is by far the longest running model I've used.Recently I bought 2 of these and I lovethis vac so much I'm purchasing another one for my family room. This model has never disappointed me. It's compact very powerful and reliableThank you Black and Decker for keeping this model in your line. It is worth the price and it does the job.

Improvement over PHV1800
Thank you Amazon for having a sale on this portable vacuum cleaner! I just got this about a week ago and only used it once for some light vacuuming of dust and hairs which worked perfectly. As directed by the instructions, I charged it for 24 hours, actually a little bit more, before first usage. I know using it once and plus for light usage doesn't speak well for my review but I want to point out that I have some history with Black and Decker Pivot vacuums. My previous portable vacuum cleaner was also a Black and Decker, specifically PHV1800. I had that vacuum for about 7+ years and I love the suction power and pivot design. Of course since it's cordless, the battery wore out over time. Now it only lasts a few minutes after a full charge. However I've never had an issue with it. In fact I never replaced the filter. I was meticulous in cleaning the canister and filter when it was medium dirty or sometimes even just light dirty. For the filter, I would shake out the dark gray junk and then use a toothpick to pick out the junk in each fold of the filter.Again because of the battery issue I thought it was finally time to retire the old one and buy a new one. I was a little hesitant to buy the BDH2000PL after reading reviews of the vacuum going dead after about a month or so for some unknown reasons. After some consideration, I decided to give Black and Decker the benefit of a doubt based on past experiences. I never had any issues with my previous B&D portable vacuum. Also years ago my family got a B&D Dustbuster and we never had issues then. So I am of the mindset that B&D makes reliable products at good consumer level prices.I like this vacuum so far and yes it hasn't died yet. Battery withstanding, this new one is a big improvement over my old PHV1800. It is a lot lighter and also has less mass. The canister can now be completely removed from the main unit for a thorough cleaning without lugging the the whole thing around like the old one. I like that the brush is now integrated into the nozzle. With the old one, the brush was a separate thing that I left plugged into the charger base and was too lazy or never noticed it to take it out and use it. The pivot feels like it has a smoother ratchet than the old one.One thing that worries me a bit though is the vacuum doesn't sound as loud as my old one. Maybe I am just equating loudness with suction power or I am not knowledgeable of any technology improvements B&D has done to this vacuum. I will just have to use it more to see how it goes.Oh one more thing, my old one actually has two "On" levels: regular power or high power vacuuming. Whenever I use the vacuum, the old one, I naturally push the switch up to the highest point until it stops. I forgot the old one's switch has a middle point before reaching the end. So I guess for my usage maybe the new one is an improvement because it removes the middle point which I never used. But so far this vacuum works. I also like the improvements over the old one so I'm convinced this new one is great. :)

Power beats the 18v model (Updated 12-2-15)
I had the 18v model of this hand held vacuum for the past few years. I still have it and it's still an amazingly powerful machine.I needed another one and opted for the 20v model since I use it in the garage and have greater demands. Also I needed a longer lasting battery to take in the motor home on trips without the charger stand, as I do not use 110v power when I'm out in the wilderness.True to it's 18v predecessor this machine is a "suck yer face off" monster! It's a strong machine that's easy to use and reliable. Also, cleaning it is simple and that's important. Most hand-held vacs fail over time because people just dump the holding tank and forget to clean the filters. Any hand held will work better and last longer if you just remember to clean or replace the filters. This model has a filter you can wash in the sink so no reason why you can't keep that filter clean.SUMMARY: I'd give it 5 STARS if only it had the easier plug-in like the 18v model rather than the plastic stand. The stand is wall mountable or you can place it self-standing on a level surface. With the 18v I could route the wire through holes to get to the machine for charging. For some reason B&D choose to put a block head on the 110v plug end and no way (other than cutting the wire) to easily route the wire to the stand going through small holes. As for price. It is a little more than I would spend for some other brands - but I have yet seen any of them return value for price. So on that point; it's worth $70 in my book._________________________________________________UPDATE 12-2-15I had a problem with the battery not lasting as long as the 18v model. I got in touch with Black & Decker and within 48 hours the issue was resolved directly. They do stand behind these products and I am truly impressed with the level and speed of service... 10 STARS if it were possible!

New model as good as previous model in features and power!
Black and Decker hand vacs. are still the most powerful and best for messes, cleanup and insect removal! Last hand vacs battery lasted well past expectations; 7yrs i think. Was so easy to clean litter after cats vigorously failed attempts to cover their business. Poor babies tried and tried. New model still uses most of the same filter and screen parts. Powerful suction none better. Never found better hand vac.

Great small hand vacuum
This is a great handy wireless small vacuum. I use it for every small clean up. The entire family loves it too. It’s the perfect size for small messes. The charge last a long time and it is super easy to handle and use in and out of the house. It’s also great for cars too.
