An amazing expensive product.
i'm a 14 handicap. I use a Garmin golf watch when I play. For years I would say that I don't understand why someone would use a rangefinder instead of a more convenient watch. My wife gave this to me for Christmas. Now I use both! I love this rangefinder. It's bright, accurate, and the addition of slope and elements( barometric pressure and temperature) is unique and helpful. The magnification and clarity is very good. Who needs measurements to the yard? Well, this gives it and adds a plus or minus for slope and elements. So , it's not unusual for me to favor a different club or try to get a little extra distance out of the usual club when the rangefinder has added 4-6 yards to the actual distance. I'm no scientist, but it seems to work as advertised. That being said, unless you have the money, let's face it, it's a bit of overkill. But it's fun and useful. It's heavy but very solid and it has a very strong magnet that will stay where you put it. I played with a guy who had a much lighter Bushnell without the new bells and whistles or magnet. I used his and mine in comparison. His was much lighter and didn't shake when i used it, which was a plus for his model. But, I prefer mine regardless. So if money is an issue, the Pro XE is not necessary. But, if it isn't , this is fun and a great product.

Bushnell sets the standard
Got this to replace an older Bushnell that I ended up losing on the course. The features are fantastic, it even takes into account the climate conditions, which any self-respecting golfer absolutely needs to do. It's the difference between breaking 100 or not :-). In all seriousness, this is a great range finder that has slope and tournament mode as easy as sliding a switch on the side. Another great feature is the magnetic back for storing on the riding cart roof support. Very convenient. Oh, and it's waterproof. Great range finder. Worthe the $.

Great purchase
The Pro XE is an excellent rangefinder and getting one used, although cheaper, I was taking a chance, but I chose this vendor based on high reviews he had received. Turns out the rangefinder was missing the eye cup, I was able to get one from Bushnell. I reached out to the vendor and he immediately reimbursed me for the eye cup and apologized for missing that. I highly recommend the vendor for great service, his very positive reviews are warranted.

Very fast targeting, easy to use, accurate and the build is high quality.
I've had my last range finder (Bushnell Pinseeker 1500) for over 12 years but it recently is having hard time locking on pins. At first I thought is me getting older at 66 years of age. But when I tried newer range finders that my friends played I had an easier time. So - which one to buy as there are so many out there cheaper than Bushnell. I read tons of reviews and tried out many but ended up selecting Bushnell's top of the line Pro XE because my last one lasted fore 12 years and has served me very well. The newer model is smaller but very fast to lock onto the pin - even when you have hills or trees right behind the green it is very easy to lock onto the pin with confidence. The optics are crystal clear. When reading reviews I saw that people were not always able to get the visual red ring and vibration affect when locking onto pins. I concur with this finding as it does not always work, however, it still locks on the target and you know with confidence that its accurate as you can easily select a target behind the pin and compare - its that fast! My hands are at times a little shaky when targeting longer distances (over 200 yards), but the laser feedback is so fast that all I have to do is touch the fire button a couple of times and it hits the targets before my hands jitter off line. The Pro XE allows you do adjust the brightness of the red text - I found that you will want to adjust it to the higher setting and leave it alone - that way you can easily see the text in any kind of light including bright sunlight. The focus ring is "tight" and you will need two hands to adjust the focus for you and you will not have to adjust it again as it will not slide with use. I wear contacts and find now fault with the optics. My friends with glasses tried it out and they were also very pleased with the optics. I did find that I have to hold it just about a fingers width in front of my eye and its works great and is easy to hold steady that way. The Pro XE is very well build - rugged and easy to hold - its water proof as well. I took it to Ireland and it had no issues with cutting through the morning fog. If this range finder lasts me half as long as my last Bushnell (and I expect it will) its a deal. I paid $500 on Amazon Prime. I golf four times a week and highly recommend this to any golfer.

Works great
This is my third Bushnell rangefinder. The other two lasted for years until they wore out. I paid up for the pricey one this time, figuring I”d get at least five years of use out of it, hopefully more. I’m glad I did. I like the way it works, very accurate and the slope features, while you can’t use them in tournaments, it’s still helpful to use in practice rounds to see how much (or frequently how little) elevation change matters on a lot of shots. Pricey but I’m glad I bought it.

Accurate
I purchased this unit as I live in NY and with the change of seasons I’m curious what the impact will be on the slope distance. I played with it today and it was flawless. At tee-off it was about 60 degrees. A 155 shot with a -2% slope called for a 157 slope-element adjusted distance. Pretty cool. I’ve read some reviews about the jolt feature not working. I don’t think those reviewers read the manual. There is no jolt unless there are other targets susceptible of triggering an alternate distance. If the pin has no other competing objects, there will be no jolt. Take it from someone who had a Leopold that gave false positives all the time — this rangefinder is very accurate.
