Dirt Devil Extreme Power 14.4 Volt Cordless Bagless Stick Vacuum, BD20040RED

I purchases this product about a year ago. After around 6 months, it stopped working as effectively as when I first purchased this product. The suction would start to die after just a couple minutes and I would have to place it on the charger, only to take it off again and have the same problem. Now it will vacuum up some of the dirt, only to fall right back out the bottom when I turn the vacuum off. It says it has two settings, one for hard wood and one for carpet, but they aren't very different. It doesn't pick up dirty very well. I have to go over spots several times and it still won't get everything. The filter is also very messy. It gets clogged with my hair that has fallen out and onto the carpet. It also gets stuck in the bottom roller. When you try to dump this product, it feels like the dirt is just going back into the air. Save your money and buy a different product.

I am very impressed by the power of this small, light appliance. Use it every day to clean up wood floors in kitchen which I used to clean with my Dyson. It is so very handy and being cordless a no hassle machine. It has picked up coins and screws as well as crumbs and dirt. I would not expect to clean a house with this but have touched up my carpets with very good results. We own a large house and I will be buying another one for our second floor.

I got this at Christmas time and by July this vacuum no longer works to any level of satisfaction. I have a small tiled home and in the beginning I could go through the home and pick up all the little crumbs and bits before the battery failed. Today, about six month later, the charge cannot make it through a room and the suction cannot handle broken pieces of crackers. I had expected this to make it at least a year. I loved the convenience at first, but I will stay reliant on my larger corded vacuum for cleaning. I would not spend money on this vacuum unless you want to buy one every six months or less.

It is an okay small vacuum to have. I do wish it had a detachable hand held option but even with out it is handy. I have been using it for over a month now and find it very handy, specially when the effort to pull out the larger machine is too much. For the price it is a good buy.

This vacuum does its job. Obviously you cannot expect to do a deep cleaning with this little cordless unit, but it vacuums up crumbs and dirt/small stones very well. The battery doesn't last forever, but long enough to pick up what it needs to. Also, the brush roller for the carpet works nicely. And its very easy to empty the canister. The docking station is sturdy and convenient. I have 4 kids under 5, so it gets a lot of use. I'm very pleased with this product and I would recommend to my friends. Plus, the kids like to use it, bonus! You won't be disappointed.

Bought this August 19th for my office cube (10 x 10). used it 1-2 times a week. After a couple of months, the high speed wouldn't even last for the 10 x 10 cube so just used the low one. Finally, it died completely in April. I contacted Dirt Devil and they said they did not have replacement batteries and told me to unplug it for 10 minutes and it would reset. I unplugged it for 10 minutes. Nothing. 1 hour, Nothing. 1 Day, Nothing.What a waste ! I have a hand vac at home which has worked for over 5 years and use it almost daily. Poor quality and NO SUPPORT.

a second review I could have placed several bad puns in. I won't . this is a good vaccum. it cleans well, is light, and best of all it is cordless. i used to spend more time wrappiing the cord on my old vacuum than I did actualy using hte cvacuum. not anymore. This thing is great. just pick it up off the charger, clean wthe apartment and place back on the charger. Highy recommended if you, too, find corded vacuums annoying.

first bought: excellent so far and for the price - very light, maneuverable, sucks well. Doesnt get to corners/edges very well. Am being careful not to re-charge (on the base) til fully discharged as the reviews clearly say that ruins the battery.update: changed review to piece of junk. I did as the product specified and did not re-charge til battery was completely run down and only use this for light vacuuming (my work office). After the second charging it barely picks up -I can do better picking up fluff and bits with my hands. Take note of the other reviews. This is junk.
