Very rugged heavy duty case! Very highly recommended! You can’t go wrong!
This is a very serious case that I've had since 2011. The foam insert can be easily adjusted to fit anything. I use it for a Springfield .45 auto handgun and spare magazines. This case could really withstand a fairly high drop or other luggage stacked on or around it on a plane. It really is impervious to water and dust infiltration and can be double locked. Very secure cushioning for handguns and other types of delicate cargo. The outside skin of the case is bullet proof but not in the literal sense! If you droped the case with a hand gun or rifle Scopes, you are not going to damage anything! The cushion inside is very thick charcoal color foam that can be plucked out in cubes to fit you pistol or whatever! I opted for the pluck out foam cube interior, other configurations available. I really love this case for handguns and don’t worry about water and dust at all getting in this case. I think the price is well worth what you get. You may find a cheaper imitation but it won’t withstand what this case can.

Great case for camera gear, firearms, and much more!
I have two of these Pelican 1450 cases -- one for firearms and one for my DSLR camera gear. This is an outstanding case for either purpose. For camera gear, the foam inserts are removable in little cubic square increments, making it very easy to configure the case to hold camera, lenses, flash, and other accessories. For pistols and revolvers most users will leave the foam inserts intact, as the case holds pretty much any handgun snugly, with just the right amount of pressure, without modification. I can pack a couple of pistols and some clips no problem. If all of that is not enough, I also use one of these for transporting portable amateur radio gear. It is perfect for this. For any purpose, firearms, radio gear, or camera gear, this case provides a secure and lockable way to transport one's equipment without worry of physical shock to the equipment, or problems with water or humidity. These cases are watertight and very safe against the elements. This is important to me, as I often transport my camera gear in an open dinghy in coves and harbors, where the wind is apt to spray water on everything. This case has been 100% proof against this. Firearms don't like water or moisture either, making this case an ideal solution for transporting one's firearms. Replacement foam inserts are readily available for this case, by the way, so one case can serve multiple functions. A quality Made-in-USA product. Highly recommended. RJB.

Oustanding Cases!
I have been using various sized Pelican cases for well over 10+ years and simply put they are built like tanks. I have traveled extensively with many of my cases and as anyone who flies a lot knows, there is no abuse like airline abuse. The outside of the cases get scuffed up but the cases remain in perfect working order. There are not many cases that can survive years of abuse at the hands of the airlines. My only complaint with pelican cases is in regards to the latches. The design requires a lot of effort to open the latches up and I have banged my knuckles many times opening them up. The good news is that this issue has been addressed with the new pelican cases as they have redesigned the latches making them far easier to open up. So this is no longer even an issue. You can purchase Pelican cases either with or without the foam insert. I prefer the cases with the foam as the foam is very easy to cut out thus making it extremely easy to design the interior any way you like. Basically you can use these case to store any of your sensitive equipment. To keep humidity out of the cases simply buy a small silica gel container. I recommend using the Peli Desiccant Silica Gel containers and you can find them right here on Amazon. Bottom line - Pelican cases are hands down some of the best cases being made today. The only other case I have personally used that can match the quality of a pelican case is a Hardig Storm case and those are more expensive so for the money, Pelican cases are definitely the brand to turn to. They are tough as nails and will protect your gear as well as any other case on the market. 5 Stars!!

Works perfectly for me...
Very nice product. The interior design allows multiple ways to configure your dividers to accommodate all types of gear. My only complaint is the levers to snap the case shut are pretty hard to engage, but I am assuming they will ease up a little (wear) over time. This case is built to protect even your most delicate camera or other equipment. I highly recommend it for travel, plus it's big enough to carry almost everything I need. The case could be used for firearms, cameras, survey equipment or almost anything wherein you need good protection and waterproof security. It also has two locking holes reinforced with metal that are secured by the molded yet rugged plastic material, to accommodate padlocks. Although I ordered tan as pictured, it comes in 6 colors. I decided on the tan to help keep the heat of the sun at bay, but black looks pretty cool if you aren't worried about temperature varience. Very satisfied with this product for my photographic needs. A little expensive but a quality design.

$80 shipped, perfect size
I picked up the 1450 from Pelican for $80 shipped, Prime. Arrived the next day. Boom. Love Prime. Anyhow, the case was as described and measured. A big complaint is how a lot of stacked amazon listings don't have any information on size and stuff in them. Anyhow, this one had the measurements listed and I liked the size so went for it. Works great. The foam is as described and easy to pluck out and mold to whatever you want to fit in the case. The case is crazy durable. It's also good looking, not flashy like a gun case, but not like a garbage bin either. I got them to house Headphones. That's right. Headphones. I also got a smaller one for holding electronic equipment (DAC, AMP, etc). Great for shipping around. Great for storage. Great for carrying around. I can get into a car wreck and my stuff will be pristine. These boxes are how you keep your stuff alive when the worst happens. They're not cheap, but if you like certain items and want them safe, this does it. Great products.

Like A Rock
I have a lot of Pelican cases for a variety of purposes. The acquisition of the 1450s (I bought two of them) yet again confirms Pelican's stellar quality. The 1450 is built like a tank. It's stronger than needed for most conceivable uses - which is exactly why Pelican fans keep buying them - locks up tight and stays tight, is built to take HEAVY abuse while protecting its contents, and even has a comfortable handle. All at a reasonable price. Now how are you going to argue with that. By the way, "HEAVY" abuse doesn't mean dropping the thing. It means surviving 10 story drops, freeway falls including car impacts, bear assaults, etc. Yes, the latches are a little tight. I like them that way - it's part of the protection. While I have bought a Pelican case or two that was over or under-sized for my intended purpose, I have never returned one yet. All found a use, and I subsequently, happily bought one the right size. There are very, very few products I've purchased where I can say *that*!

Great case. Will purchase another when I need it.
This is the second one of these cases I've purchased. The first one I bought was black and of the same specs for my camera equipment, about $3,000. I bought the second one, yellow, to protect a drone I purchased, about $1,200. I have not put these cases to any abuse. I have not gotten them wet or thrown them around but they certainly appear to be as advertised. I have confidence in the quality and durability of these cases. The latches, handle and hinges seem nice and sturdy. The pick and pluck foam is fairly easy to "mold" to your needs. The foam is about five inches or so in depth, depending on whitch case you buy. It is about 1/2 inch square and "tacked" together throughout. Open your case. Lay out your items on the surface of the foam. Adjust where you would like your items to lay in the case once your foam is cut. I used a butter knife to "carve" around my items once layed out. The knife will break the "tacking" of the foam material. Be gentle and take your time to get it right. Once you have "carved" around your item and broken the "tacking", remove the foam cut out with your hand, making sure that all of the tacking is loose around your item profile. Lay your cut out and item next to one another on a table, this is so you can get your height measurement. Take a sharp knife or scissor and trim off the excess foam for height/depth, be careful not to cut yourself. Take the foam that you cut and place it back in the hole you removed it from. Your item should now fit snugly in the cut out. Rinse and repeat for your other items that you want in the case. I hope this helps. Once you get your case and see the foam this explanation will make more sense, I hope. Overall 100% satisified. I think these cases would suit many needs: firearms, cameras, drones and many more items that need protection.
