This is a fascinating fly-on-the-wall rockumentary about the history of Nightwish, and features exclusive footage of the band from around the globe. The documentary includes exclusive footage from the first-ever Nightwish concert performance to the 2002 Century Child World Tour. *Please note you will need an All Code DVD player to view. I Hate Documentaries, But . . .
Don't care for the documentary part, especially since Tarja is not in it. But the concert footages & music videos are worth owning this. I own every Nightwish DVD's and then some. The fathers of Symphonic Metal, they never fail! Going on now with 3 different vocalists and they never skip a beat. For the great concert footage (especially during the Tarja era) and music videos, this is a must have in your collection!

For hard-core Nightwish fans only; not for the casual viewer...
My recommendation would be that this be for hard-core Nightwish fans only. This is disjointed, very hard to follow. But if you love Nightwish, you will sit through it and be happy regardless. If you want a good concert DVD/Blu-ray (with good sound), I recommend the Showtime Storytime Wacken 2013 DVD. (All MHO, of course).

A must for TRUE Nightwish fans
This video is mainly a documentary with some live music thrown in there. It tells the story of the band and has a lot of footage of them on the road. It is mainly if Finnish with English sub-titles, but it is worth it. It is really funny! I laughed out loud throughout. I was even funnier watching it after I had the pleasure of meeting the band.Just know that this is not a concert video, but it is fantastic.

A deep view inside Tuomas Holopainen musical mind,..
Because he is soo shy and his private life is very hermetic I can only talk about his musical mind,..and finally that's the important thing isn't it?..as a musician he is brilliant ,..as a composer he is a god,..a very depressed ,..shy and desesperate for something to hold on to life is what Tuomas Holopainen really is and this DVd will show you that,..lots of interesting footage and the emptiness sometimes of the muscician's life is a reality that none of us could deny,..A MUST FOR ANY FAN OR EVEN A CURIOUS LISTENER OF THIS GREAT BAND,...

great band.....bad sound
I love Nightwish, but this DVD was not a good investment. I know that I sound lazy when I say that I don't like subtitles, but I wish that there was an English overdub option for the documentary part. It would make life a little easier. Even though I'm not happy about the subtitles, that's not my main complaint. The sound quality during the live performances is horrible. The one performance is in mono and sounds like there was a single mic, placed in the crowd , used to record it. The other performance actually utilizes surround sound but all of the low end is gone. My subwoofer was pretty much useless for both live performances. I feel bad saying such horrible things about a Nightwish DVD, but it's depressing to see such fine music be butchered like this. I hope that From Wishes to Eternity is better and I hope that the next DVD has better mic placement and better mixing work.

I love nightwish but...
...this DVD sucks. only interviews and Tarja barely talks, probably because when they making this this DVD, she already was the "diva wannabe" that is now (thanks Marcelo). only few concerts but at the end, this DVD it's only for real fans of Nightwish. and only has english subtitles.

Ideal for the dedicated fan.
The second of Nightwish's DVDs is a very different affair than the first one. It focuses more on the band with interviews, monologues and behind the scenes tomfoolery than the actual music. There a clips of the various gigs scattered throughout the DVD but these are filmed as a bystander rather than the glorious musical production of End of an Era. It's a very insightful look into the lives of the band and was a very interesting look. To be honest I would doubt I would watch it as a whole for a second time but then you never know. English subtitles are a must if you do not speak Finnish.

Superb!
Comprehensive Nightwish documentary from the beginning to 2002, mainly focusing on lead man Tuomas Holopainen and the other male band members this is a fascinating insight into this great Finish gothic metal band. A shame that there are no interviews with Tarja this would of been the icing on the cake but still well worth a watch at over 2 hours long! In addition to the documentary you get a load of videos for good measure - what more could a Nightwish fan, new or old want?!

Another decent nightwish assortment
While the main feature is a 2 hr documentary follwing the band on tour,in the studio etc..there is also some live footage worth checking out in the extras including some footage from summerbreeze as well as the videos for end of all hope and over the hills and far away. The main feature is a little long but covers the nightwish story up to and including century child fairly thoroughly and worth your time if you are a fan of the band. The live footage is good but not very long,a few more tracks would have been good, but overall as a nightwish fan I felt the dvd was worth getting.

End Of Innocence
Well what can I say? Nightwish's second DVD, 'End Of Innocence' should be a bible to all other bands making a DVD. The documentary is top class, it has everything a documentary should have. It has all the complete history of Nightwish, all the funny bits from tours, concert footage and an emotional interview with the bands founder Tuomas. The concert footage, is admittely short, about five songs for each concert but it sounds amazing. Other little extras include the brilliant videos for 'Over The Hills And Far Away' and Century Child hit 'End Of All Hope' and an extremely confusing photo gallery. Overall, this is arguably the best music DVD of the year, perfect for avid fans and people not familiar to Nightwish's music.
