De-Waxed Orange Shellac Flakes 1 lb. (16 oz.)

Nice shellac, no issues.It dissolves just fine, but I recommend using 100% alcohol. The 90% stuff can work, but not as well. Also, this stuff really is orange. I think it looks great on dark woods like walnut, and I sometimes use an ultra-light cut as a toner on maple.

True depth of color and very clean, after mixing and straining, there was little to no debris. Went on beautifully.

my first time using hand-mixed shellac. I'm a bit stunned by the beauty and how easy it is to use the finish, though many coats are required. One bag of this has lasted through a complete refinishing of all the cabinets in my house (26 doors, nine drawers, and the frames). Covid has made denatured alcohol expensive and scarce, but in normal times, it is a cheap and available resource. Regarding sheerness, I'm not sure what they mean. My finish was not at all cloudy, was glossy, and had a strong red/orange cast because that is what i selected.

This shellac worked great for my project. I used it both for a 3lbs cut and a thin cut. I am very happy with the results.
