Perfect for cat’s small heart medication
These work amazingly for giving our cat his Felycin, a heart medication. The pills are small and these fit them perfectly. It’s very easy to use and the plunger is extra long, making it easy to get close to the back of the throat.

Actually awful
Quick takeaway: I can't imagine a situation where this would actually work. My cat takes half of a tiny pill on a regular basis. I bought this to replace a piller that I had purchased from our old vet's office, before we moved. That piller was never perfect, but I could usually get it to work by wrapping the pill half in a piece of pill pocket and stuffing it into the opening (which was too big to hold the pill half alone). Eventually it wore out, though. Looking for a new piller, I thought this one might actually be better than our old one because of the small opening. Finally, I thought, I can just put the pill half in without adding anything. Well, when I opened the package, I immediately had concerns. The plunger had sticky yellowish goo on it (probably from the manufacturing process), and the rubbery tip had excess material hanging off it. Nevertheless, I washed the whole thing and gave it a try. As of this writing, this product has worked on 0/4 attempts. The tiny pill half barely fits in the opening, and the plunger sticks so much when I try to give the pill that it makes a loud POP when I finally push it through. Even worse, though, is that the pill doesn't "shoot" out. It just sort of sticks to the rubbery tip and slowly falls off. I tried it once with the pill pocket trick, but then it was even worse. This product is awful. I don't know how it would work for anyone.

Works as it should
Works as it should so far. Has saved my fingers from getting bit which is the purpose. I was worried after reading some of the reviews. It is pretty flimsy but there is no need to be rough with it, it is easy to load & "pop" the pill into the cats throat. Worth the money for sure

Works well, and is easy to use
Works well, and is easy to use. Does not work for large, circular pills. Consider cutting them in half. Easy to clean and speeds up the pill giving process.

I’m sure it would work well on any dog but mine
3 stars because it just won’t work on my dog. He still is able to spit the pill out. I’m sure it would work well on a dog that is more cooperative than mine. So the stars is not a reflection on the actual product.

Used these when I worked for a local vet. Very helpful and easy to use!

Works, but with some issues
As a pet owner, giving my dog medicine can be quite a challenge. When I came across the Jorgensen Pet Piller, I hoped it would make the process easier. Here’s my take after using it: [Pros]: Simple to use, effective plunger mechanism First, the good news—the Jorgensen Pet Piller does work. The concept is simple and straightforward, making it easy to understand how to use it. The plunger mechanism is effective in helping administer pills without having to manually force them into my dog's mouth. [Cons]: Rubber tip too small, pill often gets stuck, requires multiple attempts However, there's a notable downside. The rubber tip of the piller is so small that the pill often gets stuck. This means I have to attempt the process multiple times to get the pill into my dog's mouth, which defeats the purpose of using the piller in the first place. Each failed attempt adds to the stress for both me and my dog, making it more difficult to administer the full dose of medicine. In summary, while the Jorgensen Pet Piller has potential and works to an extent, the design flaw with the rubber tip needs improvement. For now, I can’t fully rely on it for smoothly giving my dog her medication in one go.

Plunger Sticks Tightly in Tube, Difficult to Load and Dispense Pills
When you need a pet piller, you usually need one right then—as was the case when I found myself bringing home my kitty from urgent care. With none for cats available at any of local pet stores or even the farm stores, I ordered this one in from Amazon. Understand I have given many pills to many cats over the years as we’ve rescued furbabies delivered by the cat distribution system. We had high quality pet pillers for years, but those are all back home on the east coast, not out here at the base with me. And this one is in no way up to the job—the blue tip to hold the pill was incredibly stiff, and barely cut open. It would be hard to use with either small pills (likely to get caught), or large pills—nearly impossible to get it to hold. And the plunger was very hard to use—it had stiff ribs at the base that made it very hard to pull backwards to load, and just hard to push in to dispense, sticking in place repeatedly. Giving my current kitty in need of care her meds is a bit analogous to wrestling an angry alligator, so I certainly don’t need to be fighting the pill popper just to get it to load and dispense the pill on cue. Returning and looking for a better version.

Best on the market.

This was very disappointing. I bought to replace my old Veterinary medicine piller, looked the same. The mechanics of this one do not push the pill out...very poor design.

I have a 3Kg cat that is an alligator to pill. She is CKD and needs her pepcid EOD. Made the task way easier,

Fine for smaller pills but cannot handle anything very large.

I don’t know how to explain this well, but it doesn’t shoot the pill out. Maybe mine is faulty. There was a glue like substance in the inside tube part. I washed it out, but it doesn’t work. When you push on it there’s no pop on the end that shoots the pill out.
