Ohm.
I love this and stare at it when I zone out at work in response to my students shenanigans. I also use it to calm my rambunctious students that need a moment of peace and reflection so they can rejoin the class and get some work done because someone sent them there to learn something and grow up to be a productive human being and they don't want to clean bathrooms in a fast food joint for the rest of their lives and yeah, work is boring sometimes, whoever told you school was supposed to be fun lied to you. Sheesh.

Newton's Cradle
Gave this to my son for his birthday. He has wanted one for quite some time. He and his friends justloved it, as one boy said, "It's oddly mesmerizing" which is so true. Quality construction, heavy weighted metal, The line used is strong and tangle free. Would buy this item again for sure.

Ehh..Decent Purchase for the Price
Most Newtons Cradles stay active for a while before they stop...this one doesn't last very long. I'm giving it two stars because it was a present for someone and they love it, regardless. I know it wasn't the most expensive thing in the world but I would've expected it to last a little while longer once you try to show Newtons Laws...

Junk
This was a gift for my 5 YO daughter.I recieved the newton's cradle with two strings broken. I got it cheap enough that instead of bothering with sending it back, I just glued the strings onto the ball. That actually worked pretty well. So, I gave it to her and she loved it.A week or so of using it, she managed to break one of the balls (a completely different one) off and the other 4 are completley tangled up. Because of where it broke, I don't think I can glue it back on. However, I can probably restring it using fishing line - which is how it came.

Medium Newton's Cradle
This is the less expensive item and I wish I had bought a more expensive one for my grandson. It's a bit fragile and his little sister broke it right away. He fixed it pretty well with his glue gun, but it doesn't move in sinc like it is supposed to. I would recommend a sturdier model for children, but it's fine if just sitting on an office desk.

Entertaining, and demonstrates energy conservation well
The scientific point I was trying to make to my students is that energy is conserved during a collision, even though it is passed from one object to another. This toy gives a good 10 seconds of collisions that work before things like air resistance noticablly affect performance. My 5 year old boy has played with this toy after class, and has not managed to break it, although it would not be hard to break. Kids 8-11 have played unsupervised without breaking it yet also. It is pretty fun to watch the kids enjoy this. My rules are not to pull the balls back more than a 25 degree angle, not to tangle the strings, and not to move the strings from where they should be attached to the metal poles.
