Baking with Kim-Joy: Cute and Creative Bakes to Make You Smile

Baking is so much fun! I always liked baking occasionally, but this book just makes me want to bake more and more. The recipes are easy to follow and the creations just bring a smile to my face. I also really like that the recipes aren’t overly sweet. It’s just enough. She also have a you tube channel which showcases some of the recipes. I’m not going to lie... Kim joy makes it look like a breeze making the bakes look cute.... my first go at the pigfiteroles... they look so creepy. It looks like they are a cult chanting “one of us” over and over again. I added a photo of them to give you a good laugh. The second go wasnt as creepy. They are of the two pigs on a red top. Plus I added photos of my mini versions of the ginger pecan salted caramel ( mini cakes)/ spiced carrot and walnut cake (bars) and the macarons (I didn’t making them cute).

This is the most visually beautiful cook book I have ever seen! I was so excited when I discovered Kim-joy was creating a bake book. She has been my favorite Great British Baking Show contestant. This book is user friendly and provides both UK metric system measures and USA measurements. There are clear step by step directions. There is a comprehensive assortment of bake recipes: cakes, breads, macrons, donuts, cookies ... as well as frostings, cake decorating tips and curd recipes. The book is a beautiful work of art. I love the personal touches that Kim-joy brings to this book as well as to her bakes. She truly spreads joy. I can't wait to try the recipes. This book is a wonderful addition to my cook book collection. A must have for cook book lovers!

Bought this adorable book, crammed full of recipes, for my teenage niece for Christmas. She loves baking, and I think she’ll particularly enjoy Kim-Joy’s creative decorative style, and sweet little doodles and notes. The recipes cover a wide range of options, and include both British and American measurements. The recipes don’t look easy to me (a non-baker) but I like that my niece can use the book to learn new bakes and skills, and get some truly enchanting ideas for decorating.

Kim Joy brings a fresh and quirky perspective to baking. Excellent recipes - kitty rolls are some of the best rolls ever! Pigs in mud are fun to make and hilarious and delicious to share! Her fun recipes and cute and creative decorating ideas make this cookbook a real gem that I go back to again and again.

Big fan of Kim-Joy so I had to have it. It’s filled with adorable bakes. I think some of the stuff is more detailed than what a casual baker has around in their house but I plan to buy more supplies to make more of these desserts. So far I’ve only made the vegan short bread cookies but with added cardamom and they are not sweet at all and requires a royal icing etc but I thought they baked up superbly. I appreciate all the vegan recipe alternatives and you can tell they were tested and perfected, so great job! Cute as heck and id buy anything she has to sell!

I was so excited to get my copy of Baking with Kim-Joy. The recipes are all very well described and encouraging. The book is also beautiful to look at and reading through it will make you smile. Kim- Joy was one of the bakers on The Great British Bake Off show. Her bakes are well thought out and beautifully artistic.

Kim-Joy is one of my favorite contestants from GBBO, and the only "cookbook" I've ordered from someone on the show. The book is absolutely beautifully illustrated and photographed. I wouldn't say it's for the novice baker or someone with no experience decorating, but if you have some experience, I highly recommend it.

Kim-Joy is, of course, one of my all time favorite contestants on Great British Bake Off. So I was happy to buy her book to support her. What I didn’t know is how much I would love it! There are plenty of delicious recipes... but more than that, she goes into detail about how to create her delightful signature style. But even more than *that*, somehow she still manages to cultivate our own creativity and help us find our own style. As you can see from my two pictures, I started with a good idea of what to do thanks to her. But then I took it in my own direction. This is a perfect book for a novice baker or an experienced baker. And more than anything, this is a perfect book for anyone that wants help to make their bakes to look good. I can’t recommend this book highly enough!

Kim Joy looks a lot like a cat that was turned into a human being by a fairy. That said, her book is excellent.

I bought this book due to Kim-Joy's appearance on The Great British Bake-Off. I found her recipes delightfully whimsical and her flavour choices incredible. This book is full of recipes with excellent easy to follow directions and tips. The main reason was because of her Universe Sphere Cake full of chou pastry "Space Turtles" a great shoutout to author Terry Prachett. Thank you Kim-Joy

This is a really lovely book with easy to follow instructions, lovely pictures and cute illustrations. I'm not the most ambitious baker so I was a bit worried some of the recipes would be too complex for me (having seen some of Kim-Joy's creations on the Bake Off) but she includes instructions on how to simplify everything and I especially liked the parts she put throughout about the joy of mistakes and imperfection! It's refreshing to read. There are also a lot of recipes for less common bakes; my favourite is the melonpan turtles. And of course a few of her famous Bake Off creations too. I would recommend anyone buy this book- I got extra copies for some of my family!

I hadn’t baked in years & previous attempts haven’t been too successful! I saw some one had made the bees on my Facebook feed & they were super cute I ordered the book. The recipes are so easy to follow. I have made the cardamom shortbread bees, & the gingerbread cookie recipe which I made into gingerbread people, doubled up & added buttercream in the middle (recipe for buttercream also in book) I have started making the lemon, Rose & raspberry cake for some one today & only done the sponge so far but it smells incredible. Also I’d like to add that every single one so far has turned out perfect first time which is unusual for my baking! I think it’s because the steps are so clear to follow. The biscuits I’ve made so far are also what I’d call ‘luxury’. The bees are cardamom shortbread & the gingerbread includes ginger, cinnamon & cloves - so all have that extra, decadent flavour. I would highly recommend. Next to bake on my list is the space turtles!

It’s so cute! I received this as a gift, because I love to bake. I really enjoyed watching Kim-Joy on the GBBO, and was always impressed with her designs. This book has some good recipes, and if I ever need it to be vegan, there’s a few in here. The best part for me is the decorating, and baking designs!
