Impressed.
Very nice kit. I like the case to keep everything nice and organized. Comes with supplies to test for free chlorine, total chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and CYA. I tested the results from the new meter against what my local pool test location and the numbers were close to the same, not exactly but definitely within tolerance for both. Shipping was very fast, I ordered on Thursday arrived Monday morning. I like the app and probably would be very helpful for companies who test for multiple people. I wish the app would work for the report but that's really not too important for me as a private user.

PoolLab 1.0 - Mostly Accurate & Consistent Updated 7/29/19
After using for the last 3-4 months, overall opinion is that this is an awesome product. I hate to drop my rating from 5 to 4 stars, but my reasons for dropping the rating are listed below. The test results appear to be very consistent and very accurate every time for PH, TC, FC, CYA. Now, issues I have had: 1) Test tabs for ALK, I believe the batch or lot had an issue in production or something because the package contains either a normal yellowish colored tab which the ALK reads accurately and works as it should or a darker, brownish, overall diff colored tab where the ALK is way off (high). I purchased the ALK tabs again to see if I got a different batch, but I got the same lot and the same thing with the ALK test tabs 2nd time around. I have to assume the darker test tabs have gone bad somehow. If I received all the same yellowish normal looking tabs, I would have to assume the ALK tests would be just as consistent and accurate as the rest. 2) I also have not had much luck with the Total Hardness and Calcium Hardness liquid reagent testing. My testing has always been compared to other test methods and then as a last resort the Pool Store testing which varies wildly at times but with the Total and Calcium Hardness I haven't been able to get an accurate reading within what I would consider an acceptable range. It is very easy to use and despite the issues listed above I still love it overall. I do wish the photometer chlorine max was at least 10+ ppm rather than 6 ppm. You can run a diluted test with distilled water to get to your actual number if higher than 6 but it would be nice if you didn't have to. For some saying the test tabs are hard to break up, I wouldn't necessarily agree, some are a little easier than others to break up and dissolve. Not normally too difficult or time consuming. I personally will try to get new ALK test tabs in the future, but I will wait until they have more than likely run a new fresh batch to see if the issues I had are gone. Hope this reviews helps anyone considering making this purchase.

Accurate
POOL LAB 1.0 is the easiest & most accurate way for the homeowner to keep the water balanced in their above or inground pool do not listen to the few people who don't know what they are doing when it comes to water chemistry I would never put out a review like this if it was not deserved POOL LAB 1.0 PHOTOMETER is the only way to go the drop of a tablet cant over apply or under apply most accurate way to go would recommend.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM--VERY INACCURATE
I had given a glowing recommendation of this product after talking with one of the manufacturer's reps in Germany who walked me through several issues I had with its use shortly after purchasing the product. He was helpful and friendly and I began using the PoolLab device exclusively for my pool adding chemicals based on its readings until one morning when the pool had gone from crystal clear to completely cloudy overnight. So I took a water sample to two different pool supply stores in Knoxville where I was quite surprised to find out the readings from the PoolLab weren't just a little, but a LOT off. Off so much that the readings caused me to add WAY too much Calcium Hardness increaser which I added a little at a time per instructions over a 3 day period. Obviously the addition on the final day was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back (hence the overnight cloudiness). While PoolLab said Calcium Hardness was 139, the two local pool stores said 345 and 330 respectively--so within 5% of each other. So PoolLab was OFF BY A FACTOR OF ALMOST 3!!! And while not as severe a difference, Free and Total Chlorine readings are significantly off as well. And while my first experience dealing with the manufacturer went well, Email correspondence with the company in regard to the inaccuracy problem is worthless. They offer no solutions. They infer it must be "operator error" but I assure you I am performing the testing procedures precisely. Unfortunately, I did not check the accuracy of the device when I received it. Covid 19 kinda intervened. By the time I did, the window of opportunity to return to Amazon had passed. With the reagents I purchased specifically for PoolLab and the copious amounts of Calcium Hardness increaser and other unnecessary chemicals I added, PoolLab has probably cost me over $300. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID

Broke after 10 months
My husband really likes this tester, however, the display went out after 10 months. It’s a little pricy to only last 10 months. UPDATE - I contacted the company and they sent me a new photometer. I changed it to a 5 star rating for the excellent customer service.

So wanted this to work.
Boy oh boy did we want this little machine to work.!It has a few kinks I think should be noted. 1) the tables are a bit time consuming to "jab to death" to get them to dissolve. Especially the phenol red for ph. testing. 2) The readings for our alkaline and ph. were off when compared to our pool service readings. And by off……I mean way, way off. After 3 tries and getting the same inaccurate results, we decided to return the item. It is quite expensive for the inaccurate readings. It is a nice looking unit and feels sturdy. The little case it comes with is also nice.
