Solid product, and a great value at this price
Loving this little unit so far. It's very solid, and the adjustability means you get 3 steps in one, which is a huge space spacer. It's quite sturdy, with the top very coarse and non-slip, and easily stands up to jumping or most anything you could throw at it in the gym. Assembly was simple enough and I got it done well under half an hour, but if that's not your thing, note the directions are a little sparse - do yourself a favor and get two ratcheting wrenches; it will make the whole thing a lot faster. (Also note that everything gets locked down with washers on either side except the top screws - those are flush to the board and don't require washers on the top part. That should help if you need it.) It took me forever to find this litte unit when searching for something like this, and I'm very glad I stumbled across it. I almost spent double for a similar product from another company, and this seems equal in quality to almost anything else out there.

A Disappointment
This might have been just a defective part, but one of the legs broke just after the 5th use. Specifically, the pin that adjusts the leg height snapped off during use, and the leg collapsed while I was on the box. Given the specs of the box, this should not have happened. The box itself appears and feels very sturdy. My experience could be an anomaly or it could be a design flaw. CAP Barbell was willing to send replacement parts, but I lost confidence in the product and didn't want to deal with it. I could have reinforced the legs, but why should I have to mod this product? It should be good to go as is. Amazon refunded my money without hassle. Now, I'm looking for a quality plyo box/set. Any suggestions?

Very pleased with equipment, but instructions are poor.
This is one heavy piece of equipment. I have every confidence that it not only would support my weight (210#) but another person. This is not going to slip out from under you. A small person may have trouble picking this up or moving it around as it is very heavy. Thankfully, the other reviewers here gave a description of assembly because the instructions included were all but useless. There were no step-by step instructions, only a picture and the details were so small you couldn't read them. I'm pretty handy so I was able to work it out. Separate all the parts and count them before you start. You will have 4 bolts that are slightly shorter than all of the others. These are the 4 that go in from the top of the platform into the leg. They will recess. All of the bolts were very tight so there is some danger of stripping the screws out. The use of an adjustable wrench was imperative because you can not finger tighten the screws. Do not tighten anything until the entire thing is assembled. Also, there are two washers for every leg screw (one on the inside of the screw, one on the inside of the bolt). There is only one washer for each of the 4 top recessed screws for the bolt side.

Step away
Overall a good quality product that we had to put together. We actually purchased two and one was a little off. Specifically it does not seat all the way as it's designed to. Nevertheless we still use both of them without any issues or concerns. The top of the item has a gripping fabric so it may snag on your clothes. My husband and I both use the product and I'm 155 and he's 175. You can use this for step ups or jumps with ease.

Only buy if you have an IQ
So, upon receiving this unit, my wife states "the online reviews say it is hard to put together", so I offer to do it for her. I open the box, and find only nine pieces, and a ton of bolts, nuts and washers. Immediately I think "oh my, there must be something more to this". I look at the instructions, look at the pieces before me, and separate the four screws that are meant to be flush mounted from the top into the legs. Whew, that was hard! I also deduce that since they are flush mount, there is no need for a washer to go on the top. Thank goodness for the power of logical thinking, what with it being a flush screw and all. And I'm not even a construction worker, physicist or whatever else some on here think you must be to put this thing together. I also see that the holes are oblong. There is a reason for that: it's called adjustability. I quickly put the sides together, only partially tightening each one because common sense would tell you that with adjustability made into the construction to ease assembly, just leave it all loose until the end. Once I had the sides together (5 minutes tops), I put the top on. Now that I have all of the screws in, I can begin to tighten all of the screws down, starting with the top ones, the flush mount. I grab a 10 mm wrench and a number 2 phillips. Thirty seconds later, the top is secure. Funny thing is that the screws and nuts fit together just fine. However, they are tight all the way on because they are lock washers. Some customers probably need to make sure they know how lock washers work, and that they are always tight from the beginning all the way to the end. Pro Tip: righty tighty, lefty loosey. In this case, we want to go righty. Now for the sides. I put the number 2 phillips in the head and notice that it is a bit loose. Now, I have two options: I can continue to use the wrong size phillips head screwdriver and strip out the heads, or I can use a wee bit of critical thinking and decide to use the correct size phillips, the next size up: 3. I chose the latter. About 10 minutes later, all of the bolts are tight and the unit is ready to go. Pro Tip #2: there are only three sizes of phillips generally used, so this makes figuring out which one to use pretty easy. I am consistently amazed by the direction our society is headed, and how each generation seems to be getting worse and worse. I am surprised some can even find the floor in the morning with their feet without explicit instructions on how to do so. Bottom line: As of right now, I am pleased with this product. Assembly was not that bad, it was a bit wobbly getting the sides together, but nothing major. Time will tell if it holds up to abuse. So, I said in the beginning to only buy if you had an IQ. I wrote that correctly, just an IQ. It doesn't matter what it is, if you scored anything, you can put this together fairly easily.

This thing is awesome, my hubby helped put it together and the one tip I would say is, keep the box screws loose until u put the top on, then it will be square. Other then that, so easy to change hits, super strong and will hold a ton of weight. Well worth the purchase for a plyo box option.
