Past Life Astrology: Use Your Birthchart to Understand Your Karma Paperback – August 28, 2006

I am a little bit biased when it comes to Judy Hall, she may not be the first nor the last astrologer to ever write about past lives or karma or karmic astrology but I feel a very special connection with her material, it's like she always finds a way to have a sentence to touch me and bring me to tears because the description fits me so well. I was expecting this book to be a bit chunkier, it's not really but the information is perfect for me. The book is of great quality with thick pages filled with beautiful pictures, up to this day, it's one of the prettiest books by her that I own. Regarding the information, I found it to be very spot on, it's not exhaustive but it did give me more insight about karmic astrology. Also, I got this book as an used copy but you would've never guessed it, it was just as good as new.

The pros:The book is visually beautiful. It has nice, heavy paper. The illustrations are colorful and pretty. It's put together in a really visually pleasing way. The language is easy to understand.The cons:I am not sure who this book is written for. When I first started reading it, I thought it was easy, simplistic and could follow along well. As I went along, it got more and more confusing- partially because she doesn't give complete information, partially because she starts talking with terms that are over my head. She doesn't draw a straight line from A to B. Sometimes she flies and the reader is not on the plane with her. The worst part about it though is that it all seems to hypothetical and focused on entertainment rather than anything concrete. The things that are in my chart that are supposed to be part of my karmic work are not related to me at all. I am not talking about just one thing that can be dismissed, but most things. So, it doesn't seem to be accurate. If it were hard to understand but accurate, I'd take the time to figure the rest out. Instead I think I have a pretty book that will sit on my shelf.

The book was too basic for me, but to be fair I am pretty deep into both astrology and past lives and I was hoping for a lot more than the book offered. This a good book for someone just touching on the subject in a very basic kind of way (sun signs and a little more than that). I'm actually going to gift it to a friend who is just getting into past life astrology and it will be a better fit for her than me. I think it will be a fun and easy read for beginners, if you are more seasoned you may not feel fulfilled by the contents of the book. Overall its a simple book with beautiful art work, and I'm happy to pass it on the right person.

This is truly an insightful book if you will let her explanations sink in and inform you. Very pleased with this addition!

I first "met" Judy Hall through her Crystal Bible (another amazing book) and have enjoyed her writing style ever since. Her obvious passion for Past Life work and Astrology, in general, just glows from this book. She completely understands this subject and presents it in an easy to grasp manner, as she always does. I found myself nodding my head in agreement and having "aha" moments in every chapter. If you have ANY interest in Past Life Astrology, this book will get you started and keep you thinking! I only wish she lived in the US so I could go stufy with her...her knowledge on so many subjects is just mind-boggling!Once again, if you have any interest in delving into Past Life Astrology, do not pass this book by, it will give you lots of fabulous information that you will not pick up in other books.

When planning a one-day workshop on Karmic Astrology I did some searching for a book that would serve as a link for relative beginners as well as provide thought-provoking material for seasoned students. I was VERY pleased with this! I'd seen Hall's work with her book "The Karmic Journey: The Birthchart, Karma, and Reincarnation" and this proved to be exactly what I was looking for for my class.Judy speaks minimal "astrologese" <smile>, managing to make astrological points in plain English. And while there are "cook book" elements to this book, she does do a good job of encouraging the reader to use synthesis to think through the energies at work in the chart.A great read and a fabulous reference.

I buy everything this author produces, so I'm somewhat biased. She i absolutely the best. Every once and a while one stumbles upon someone who strikes you, and you realize, "I must have known them in another lifetime. For the experienced astrologer, this book helps you to discover the origin of the "knowing".I have bought every book that Judy Hall has written. Recently, I have bought her e books. She is a genius in blending the metaphysical disciplines. Best of all, she is an easy read. BUY IT!

Judy Hall has written another outstanding book. By using your birthchart as a roadmap. the book helps me understand my karma. Judy has a fabuous way with words in helping you understand the energies of your life througout this special time in which you are born. Easy to use book and the explanations are concise and thorough. I sm very pleased with the book. I have several other books by Judy Hall, and I find them very aurate and thorough in the explanations. I really enjoyed this book, im not a professioal astrologer and have made the mistake of purchasing books on the more spiritual side of astrology before which were way too heavy and far to complicated. This book is still very informative but manages to break things up into bite sized chunks so you dont feel like your reading an encyclopedia. Do not expect this book to tell you who you were, what country or culture you may have incarnated into. Although Judy Hall does give hints to this at times this book is really about your emotions, patterns of behavior, positive attributes you have brought forward in this lifetime and your blocks and the issues your working on. This isnt a fluffy book, you may have to look at things you have buried under the carpet which is why I feel people have had strong reactions to this book...You will need to generate a free birthchart if you dont have one from an Astrologer already, try astro.com to be able to use this book. You then work through the placement of the Sun, Moon and other planets including Chiron to find personalised info specific to you or anyone you know. The basics of how to read your chart are nicely explained at the start of the book. I found the spiritual insights of my chart to confirm what I knew already and give a deeper understanding and direction to my chart, its a book I go back to for reminders. The only part of the book which I struggled with was about the aspects of the chart, I would have liked more detail here.The book is printed on high quality matte paper, it has beautiful medieval woodcut style illustrations which make it a real joy to read. The book also offers guidance on how to work through your karmic lessons, release blocks and push through on your spiritual path and hopefully align yourself better with your life purpose. This isnt about fate or punishment, its about growing and learning. Another great book from Judy Hall which makes spiritual and past life astrology accessable to everyone.

A must have for anyone interested in the subject of past life astrology. This book is easy to understand and well laid out. All you need is a print out of your birth chart. The only downside for me was that some of the illustrations might be better suited to a children`s book.

I am looking forward to reading this book.

This is a great read for those who would like to dive deeper into karmic astrology. It is also a great start for beginners as she breaks down each of the signs, planets and houses. I highly recommend it!

I had this book years ago and never got to read it. This is a new copy, so will definitely read this one as I think it shows another side to astrology.
