Correct Fluid for 2017 Ford F150 SuperCrew/2.7L EcoBoost
Purchased this to change out the fluid in the transfer case of my 2017 Ford F150 SuperCrew with 2.7L EcoBoost Engine. Just drove over 2000 miles on it with no problems.

This is the Fluid that Ford puts into their late model transfer cases.
OEM Ford fluid, I used it in the transfer case of my 2019 Ford Ranger. You can’t go wrong with using the OEM fluids especially if a warranty question arises.

Updated Ford Transfer case oil
This is what the Ford dealerships will sell you now when you need to change the transfer case oil in an older 2000 -F350 Super Duty 4x4. Please note the picture here on amazon is of the outdated transfer case oil that Ford no longer sells. So, 5 stars for getting me the updated oil Amazon.

Worked great in my transfer case
Put a bottle and a half in my 2010 F150 transfer case as XL-12 is discontinued. This is the replacement for XL-12.

Buy OEM when it's reasonable
I like buying Ford stuff or OEM stuff, I think American manufacturers have "caught up" with all foreign manufacturers and are now exceeding them. I am glad to be buying Ford products again and this is just another example of the OEM being just as good or better than what you can get after market. it is a little more expensive but the quality is there.

This fluid has been discontinued since December 2018!
I ordered this fluid at $25 a quart. It's what was recommended for my 2001 4x4 Excursion. Well, turns out in 2018 Ford again changed the fluid spec for transfer case fluid. They discontinued the XL-12 and made Mercon LV the correct fluid. Amazon I guess didn't know how to deal with the change and just kept selling the XL-12. I got my order today and it was 2 quarts of Mercon LV! I was a little miffed! Did a quick search and found the new info. The quarts both had new Amazon labels on them calling them XL-12. I paid XL-12 prices for $11 Mercon LV fluid. Amazon did take care of it and refunded my money and had me keep the Mercon LV. So now I use Mercon V in my 4r100 and Mercon LV in my transfer case.
