I first saw one of these HDMX Speakers at a friends house. I was amazed by the great sound coming out of such a little device.A few days later, I jumped on here and bought one myself. On with the review:Design+ The design is very practical, it comes in many different colors, ( I bought the red one ) and has a rubber ring around the base on the bottom to keep it from slipping off surfaces, very clever.+ There are buttons on the speaker itself that allow for Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down. There is also a bluetooth indication light to let you know it's connected. Speaking of bluetooth, I had no problems pairing it with my iPhone 5. In fact, the speaker beeps loudly to let you know if a device has been connected/disconnected.+ The unit itself feels substantial. It doesn't feel like it could shatter if I dropped it. It carries a nice firm weight to it. Not heavy, but it does feel solid. I liked that.+ I have to make this point, call me crazy, but my speaker actually smelled a little like a strawberry! Maybe it's nothing, but if I found out the company made them or the box scented, that would make my day.Speaking of which, I didn't understand the "JAM" part of the product until I opened the Amazon box. The speaker itself comes in a very wonderful looking box. Made just like a jar of Jam. It has a nice metal lid that you twist, and the cover art resembles a food product, with the speaker information being displayed in a "Nutritional Information" way. Loved that extra touch to quality.Sound+ Now obviously, for this price, you won't hear Bose quality sound. However, I bought this speaker because I wanted a good sounding, wireless speaker to play for social events, the shower, study, etc. I found just that.This speaker can easily fill up a room. I turned it up to the max on the speaker, as well as my audio device, and barely heard any peaking. Some songs that are mastered for large speakers may get a litter squished, I found that as well as heavy dark bass filled songs (e.g Movie Soundtracks) the bass wasn't as clear as it would be in my headphones or my Bose System, but that's fine!+ I will say I was surprised on how well it sounded though. I'm very happy with it.++ Lastly, two quick things you should know, the battery for wireless playback is about 4 hours. That doesn't bother me much, but be warned if you are going to try and make it last for an entire evening event or something similar.- The charge cable it comes with it very short. It's a standard Micro USB to USB port. Those are lying around everywhere, so if you find the length short, maybe find or invest in a longer one.Overall, thrilled with this speaker and it's a joy to use. Highly recommended.

As a 4th grade teacher, I use an older laptop computer and projector to present or enhance my lessons. The laptop speaker is not loud enough to be heard throughout the classroom, so for the past few years I have been using a pair of inexpensive USB-powered speakers. Although they served the purpose, they had issues--they take up too much space on the projector cart, and the USB cable is too short to allow me to place them somewhere else. Also, the sound quality isn't great, and gets really distorted (or cuts out completely) if the volume is set a little too high. It was a particular problem if I tried to play a DVD on the laptop--the kids could only hear the sound if they sat as still as statues and held their breath.When a friend told me this little speaker could fill a room with sound, I was doubtful. Still, I figured it was worth a try, and after comparing prices, I ordered one (in blueberry) from Amazon. I also purchased a USB Bluetooth adapter, hoping that it would work with my old laptop.On to the happy ending...the USB Bluetooth adapter works like a charm, and I ADORE this little speaker! The sound quality is amazing for such a small unit (it's about the size of a large apple), and it really does fill the classroom with sound. It doesn't have to sit right next to the laptop, so it doesn't take up space on the projector cart. My students have never seen anything quite like it--they immediately declared it to be VERY cool, and they definitely appreciate the improved sound quality. Now I can play a DVD on the laptop and the sound is loud and clear!By the way, when I tried the speaker out here at home, my roommate immediately announced, "I want one!" She is a college student, and likes to play music on her iPad between classes. We ordered a second speaker for her (in strawberry), and it arrived today. This speaker is small enough to carry in her backpack or book bag, and seems to hold a charge well. It packs up nicely in its little jar, and takes up less space than her headphones.Overall, this is a great value in a small package!
