I like this device it works great but even the installer could not get it to program my new Overhead Door garage door opener. So now I have two remotes!

There's not much to say about these remotes, and that's very much a good thing. They work, their range is comparable to the larger visor-clip models, they're easy to pair with your opener, and the convenient thumb-slide cover prevents accidental button-presses. Four buttons offers plenty of pairing for sites with multiple garage doors to open, and the convenient form factor makes them an easy fit for your pocket. Be sure, of course, that your garage door opener features the purple learn button/antenna, for compatibility.

The remote paired on first try. Instructions were easy to follow, and they feel pretty sturdy.

I don't use four buttons but If I needed them they are there. Was easy to program and works great. I also like the flip cover that protects the remote from opening the door when you don't want to open it (i.e. when I take it with me on my lawn mower or in the house when not in use you don't hit it by mistake.) You can't go wrong with this remote but if you want a visor clip you'll have to buy another make or make one work

Except for a couple of minutes of operator stupidity in trying to find the buttons (Duh, like under the slide down section), these little guys are super. They synced in a heartbeat, no muss, no fuss (unless you count using my rickety old ladder). I was able to get these linked to garage door opener and then use one to sync the car (per auto instructions) in a jiffy, too. It took me approximately 3 minutes (including the ladder climb) to do it all. Super easy. If I could do it (old and semi disabled), literally anybody can.

I purchased one and the battery went dead in 5 months. For whatever reason I choose to by a two pack of the same remotes. In the span of five weeks both of the new ones are now dead. To make matters worse it is impossible to remove the four tiny screws to change the battery. Unfortunately, I was notified by Amazon that the product is only warrantied for 30 days.

Pros: This ExcelTek garage door opener was easy to pair, feels solid, has a great cover to prevent accidental button-pushing, and overall is a quality product. Battery is replaceable.Cons: The device is a little bulky. The battery is an unusual type (see photo for comparison to a AA battery.) The biggest drawback for me is that the battery lasted only about 6 months. I purchased two, used one of them occasionally, used the other never (just kept it as a backup.) The batteries on both stopped working within one day of each other. (I switched from the one I used to the one that was my backup, and was able to use the backup once before it stopped working, too.)My hypothesis is that the circuitry driving the small green activity LED puts a low-level drain on the battery, draining the battery over time.In contrast, my previous door opener was given to me used, and it lasted over three years before it fell apart and began to work unreliably.The user manual (links in the product description) describes how to replace the battery. You will need a micro 50mm Philips screwdriver to remove the three screws, and a 12-volt "A27" (or "27a") type battery, available on Amazon.
