2 Slice Toaster with Extra Wide Slots, Shade Selector, Auto-Shutoff, Cancel Button and Toast Boost, Red

It worked great for 11 years, and then I accidentally spilled a whole batch of lemon curd all over it. Just bought another one.

This toaster is the perfect size for my small kitchen—compact but efficient. The red color adds a fun pop, and it was easy to set up right out of the box. It’s easy to clean, and the overall quality is great for the affordable price. Toasts evenly every time!

This is a good toaster. It is consistent and you can count on what you toast coming out nicely done. With this one, you learn what setting you like for the level of toastyness you like for the different bread products; 2 for store bread, 3 for homemade, 5 for English muffins..., and every time they come out just the way you like. The slots on top are wide enough to accommodate Texas toast. The extra lift to get smaller pieces up so you can get them out easily is nice. It is a little slower than most, but it does a good job. However, there's one major drawback that keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating. This toaster is a devil to clean. The trap door on the bottom works real good, but there is an extra large lip under each side of each slot which catches crumbs as well. I turn the toaster upside down over the sink and shake it to clean those, but that doesn't dislodge all the crumbs. I take a long handled narrow artists paint brush and carefully work it down to brush the crumbs off, but that's really difficult with the extra wires which keep the breads from direct contact with the heat wires. Those don't allow complete access to the offending crumb shelf. You could call it a "crumby deal!"

This is my second purchase to replace the previous toaster which I gave to a friend. I had been using it for 5 years and it was still going strong! I like appliances that aren't too high tech and this one fit the bill. It looks pretty on my kitchen counter, has wide slots for bagels, a cancel button to pop up your toast early if you want, the tray at the bottom opens easily to shake out the crumbs, and it is easy to operate. What more do you want? It tended to toast a little darker as the toaster aged, but that's what the shade selector is for, right? I was thrilled that it still came in red, and the price didn't break the bank.

First few uses there was a smell of burning plastic. After 2 months of use it sporadically would not toast one side. Even though I turned up the toast level it would not toast darker and I would have to retoast. Maybe I got a faulty one.

We aren't big "toast people" here and over the years we've been through many toasters and toaster ovens and frankly none have them have lasted and weren't worth the counter space. Our last one a four slice capacity Cuisinart had been packed away into a cupboard for a year or more and we never thought twice or even once about it. That is until I went for surgery and was facing a long recovery time at home and a simple diet with toast playing a major role. This toaster fits the bill perfectly, it's got a great retro look, the red color pops, the sides stay cool to the touch, it can easily accommodate a bagel and it makes great toast to fit your fancy from a light golden brown to charred. Uncomplicated, well made and under twenty bucks! If you've been searching for a toaster that's basic and simple - I would say you can stop looking around because here it is and you won't regret it. It's a terrific little toaster and an equally terrific deal.

Needed to upgrade my toaster from the 70's. (It still worked, but the knob on the lever fell off, and I didn't want to mess with trying to re-attach it.) My recent purchases of a coffee pot, and later, a can opener, led me to look at Hamilton Beach toasters. I'm glad I did. Just wanted a basic, 'getterdone' toaster, and found this 2-slice toaster with the perk of being able to toast bagels, if I wanted to. Haven't tried a bagel yet, but confident it will be perfectly toasted, when I do. I love Brownberry brand bread, and the loaves tend to be shorter, but wider than standard bread loaves, although the slice sizes are the same width as regular bread. This toaster accommodates the wider length slices nicely. On first use, I thought the appliance might be defective, as pressing the lever to make the bread descend into the toaster took the slices down, but there appeared to be no action. Pressed the lever a little farther down, and voila! the toaster engaged. To my surprise and delight, there are little 'cages' inside the toaster that close in on the bread, and keep it from curling while toasting. Didn't expect that, but what beautiful results it yielded. I'm very happy with my purchase, especially since it was at a reasonable price. Highly recommend this toaster if you are looking for a simple, efficient, and sensibly designed 2-slice toaster.

Very pretty but uneven heating- two outside events work but interior ones sporadic/spotty. If I hadn’t thrown the box away I would have returned it.
