Thermal Pool Cover Trimmed to fit
I have a kidney shaped pool and this cover was slightly longer in length than the pool and slightly shorter in width. It was much better fit than the previous cover. It is of a heavier thickness and is much better quality than the previous cover. It is also heavier due to the thicker (12 mil) material used. The quality is great and the price was reasonable.

Awesome solar pool cover!
Product is amazing. We just had our pool built and just recently started using the solar pool cover and what a difference. Item is easy to put on and take off. I do it daily and before work with ease. I would recommend this product and buy again if I had to.

Perfect fit!
Perfect fit! 18x36 and it is actually 18' wide. Packaged nicely and easy to layout. I'm going to wait 2 days like it says before trimming the corners, that is if I even do.Update: after a day to allow it to settle there is probably 2-3" extra inches on each side. But not a problem for me.

Don't be fooled by the warranty.
The cover is a lot thinner than the one we had previously. Also, the one we had before was one large piece and this one is several strips of material with seams to hold them together. The material does not feel much thicker than regular bubble wrap.It was easy to cut but it seems there are always some air bubbles trapped under it which is not good because that is where the material gets really hot in the sun (since it is not being cooled by the water). The cover makes the pool warm up faster. We did not get the cover for this purpose and I am not too happy about it because I am under the impression that algae grow faster now that we have this cover. We generally have a cover to reduce evaporation, now more important than ever due to the severe drought conditions in California. I am happy we got the cover and I found a relatively good price on amazon compared to local stores. I highly recommend getting a cover to anyone with a pool in California. However, as other reviewers pointed out, the warranty is not really a warranty. From a good manufacturer I would expect to send me a replacement item if the product wears down too quickly or has any defects. This company would not exactly do that. They start with the MSRP (list price) and then make you pay a percentage of the list price for each year you were able to use the product until it failed. That is in addition to the shipping and handling fee that you would also have to pay. If the product fails during the first year you only pay shipping and handling, during the second year you also pay 35% of the list price and during the third year 50%, the fourth year 70% and the fifth year 90%. In other words, after the first year the cost and hassle to get a replacement would be so high no one would use the warranty. Now I understand that warranties are often abused and the company is trying to protect themselves from that. However, this warranty is seriously so consumer-unfriendly that they should not advertise with the warranty. Because at first sight I though this must be a pretty good product if they offer a five year warranty, many pool covers don't last that long. But it's really not a warranty worth mentioning and it is not an indicator of high quality. I would actually consider the warranty as false advertising - I mean a 5year warranty where in the 5th year the customer has to pay 90% of the list price plus shipping and handling to actually use the warranty ?In other words, don't be fooled by the warranty.Update: The pool cover didn't even last a year. It was totally destroyed about 7 months after we started using it. All of the little bubbles had basically popped and released small blue plastic circles into the pool which clogged up our filters etc. So if you combine the poor quality with poor customer service you get an absolutely unacceptable product. I would not recommend it at all.

So far so good!
So far so good! I could definitely feel the temperature difference on the surface - quite warm. It also kept the pool clean which is what I was looking for.The weight of the blanket itself is not very much - it only feels heavy when you are taking it off because of the surface tension.

Only lasted 2 years
Cover is 2 years old and small round plastic bubble pieces continue to come off. Cover was kept rolled up when not used and inside during winter.

For the price and performance, can't beat it!
So, for about $100.. for the first time in the 4 summers I've owned my pool it's warm enough to go in, anytime I want. This last weekend the pool was probably close to 90 degrees (it never crossed about 80-82 without the cover) and we're still in June. I may need to leave it off this week as it almost works too well.Last month I was in the pool a couple of times and it was likely 80+. I live in Burbank, CA and this year it's been between 70-80 most days in May and it's getting even warmer. Without the cover, during the peak summer months (where its 95+ every day) it would hit 82.. but even a few weeks on either side of that, it was cold enough to make my nieces and nephews complain they didn't want to go in, and that's a bummer!I got the 18x36 cut, my pool is about 18x32. I trimmed it myself with scissors (and I actually cut it a couple inches too short, seems like it may have shrunk a bit) so be sure to leave an extra 6" or so around the sides for a good month before trimming it to your final size. I think when I first cut it, I had left it out for a couple days it was really flat. After that, taking it on and off you get air bubbles etc and that tends to pull it in a bit, so leave some extra space around the edges. My pool guy makes me take it off each week so that the chemicals don't dissolve away all the bubbles on the water side, he also says they'll clog up the pool pump. But, it's easy enough, I do it by myself most days, it is much easier with 2 people though. It's kind of a pain yes to put it on and off, and it dumps some dirty water and the leaves sit on top and spill into the pool when you take it off, but it's worth the extra effort. I just pull it and leave it half folded, half crumpled up while swimming, and then drag it back over the top when done.If you need a few extra degrees, this thing will definitely do the trick. It also keeps the pool from losing as much water. It does seem to affect my pool cleaner that tries to move around under the cover, but gets stuck often (it did without the cover also) and last couple of weeks there's been a few green spots that the pool guy has cleaned up, but never before had any so again probably due to the covering of the water 6 1/2 days of the week, but seems simple enough to adjust the chem levels a bit. It's been on the pool for about 3 months now, and it seems to be holding up well. Likely will last at least a few years. Recommended for those that want a quick and dirty way to heat the pool without costing you a boatload!
