Solid blade. Comfortable grip. SHARP.
- Craftline Robust -- Truly a robust small blade knife.- Very sharp out of the bag.- The blade did appear to have a small amount of surface corrosion near the handle. Not sure if the corrosion is on the steel inside the handle, but I would assume so, because it is all the way to where the blade meets the handle.- The non-stainless blade was not coated with oil, but had a mirror polished finish.- Excellent for shaving wood. It cuts steak well, but leaves metalic taste and stains easily - I won't do that again.- I like the plastic sheath. It is well made and sturdy while also flexible. It fits onto another Morakniv craftline sheath I already had. The sheath is exactly the same as the other (Marakniv Pro all around stainless knife).- The handle is VERY comfortable and has a very nice, solid rubbery grip. It will fit up to about 3 3/4" wide palm without exceeding the handle grip area.- The knife spine is unfinished and soft edged. I sanded mine to a sharp 90 degree edge with a dremmel sanding wheel. I also notched in some shallow jimping on it easily with a dremmel cut off wheel. It took about 5-10 minutes total. Now it will throw sparks using a fire steel and my thumb doesn't slide while pushing on the blade spine.- Thick blade does not flex side to side under medium pressure usage. It's stout.- Excellent value for a tough working knife.

Double dog dare you
I double dog dare you. You can not harm this knife. Even doing stupid internet stuff.I use it for a general on the bench knife. Or I throw it in a bucket to take to a job.( General contractor) I used it for scraping paint off steel galvanized fence posts. Boring a 3/4" hole in 3/4" plywood. And I mean boring as in twisting in a circle.Splitting shims for a 2x6 wall. Then I used it to make a netting needle about 7" long. Tried some feather stick work three curls not four, but that on me it's the most I've gotten to date (seasoned fir) Then found a glimmer of light reflecting off the edge. Put the edge back to feather stick sharp with a rock I found in the yard.

Blown away by what you get for the $
First off, if you are not sure what all is involved with a carbon steel knife, then you probably want to get the stainless steel version of this knife. If not maintained, CARBON STEEL WILL RUST. If you like the added benefits of a carbon steel blades, but still not sure, do some research on carbon steel blades before you buy it and leave a poor review whenever it rusts.I was in the market for a fixed blade EDC that was a little longer than my usual EDC fixed blade, but shorter than my camping knives. Morakniv's line of knives are everything against my usual style of knives. I saw the Eldris in a video review and became curious and started down the rabbit hole of research into the company and it's knives. I will break down each of the negative items below and why it still didn't deter me from this knife. I was torn between the Companion HD, the Kansbol, the Garberg and this Craftline Robust. I liked the Kansbols dual blade grind but didn't like that it was only available in stainless. I preferred the handle of the craftline as it wasn't as thick as the HD. But I preferred the HD bc the blade was a little bit longer. I liked the Gargberg's full tang, but didn't like the handle shape or the price tag.-Not a full tang. I have always been a full tang type of guy. I have always been skeptical of even full narrowing and full stick tang knives. This is actually my first partial tang knife I have owned. This model has a 2/3 -3/4 tang. It's wider than a stick tang. This knife is solid though. They have done a great job of bonding the tang to the handle. I don't foresee any troubles down the road and have heard great opinions on longevity with moraknivs.-Plastic handle. I always liked metal handles or metal with scales. This knife, however, has a rubberized plastic handle. It feels really good though. The grey plastic inlay is not rubberized though, but I don't see that being an issue. In the pictures the handle looks cheap and plastic. It is surprisingly not so when you see it first hand and feel it. The molding lines are visible in spots but it doesn't detract from the overall appearance or feel. The shape of the handle fits my hand very well. I was afraid to get the Companion HD bc it had a thicker handle and other reviewers with smallish hands complained it was too thick. I really like the finger guard near the blade and the pull grip at the bottom.-Sheath. The sheath is acceptable but has a little more to be desired. I will probably modify the existing sheath or make a new one. If I was going to belt carry it vertically, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I think I'd prefer to horizontal carry or neck carry it though. This knife is about the longest fixed blade I would horizontal belt carry for my waist size. All in all, this is an astonishing value for what you get. They didn't cheap out on the stuff that matters. This is an AMAZING <$20 knife. It's NOT an amazing >$50 knife. Reading some of the other reviews made me cringe about the spine and the rust. There is a picture of the unfinished spine in the listing. I'd probably spend up to maybe 50 on it if it had a better sheath and a machined spine. Morakniv has those options in their better lines for about that price.I would rather spend what I did on this knife and machine the spine myself and do a custom sheath. That is all this knife lacks. The blade on this Robust is amazingly well made. This is my first Morakniv brand knife and the first knives I have purchased sight unseen. Even with what is lacking, and I knew what it was going to lack before purchasing it, I would not have chosen a different knife. If the Kansbol was offered in carbon steel with the handle of the Craftline, I would have went with that. I will be buying all 4 of my children the Morakniv Scout as they get of age based on the overall quality of this Craftline Robust.

Perfect work knife
I have always been a knife guy. I have never found a company that provides such quality work knives at such a great price.

Great knife but not for fire starting
Great quality for value, but note that this is not suitable for using a ferro rod to make sparks because the back of the knife is not sharp enough along the spine.
