THERAVENT: BEST SOLUTION TO STOP SNORING EVER!
I have been snoring for quite a long time. I was on the verge of getting one of those CPAP masks. Upon reading what this product does I thought I would give it a try. I first heard about a similar product on Good Morning America called provent therapy....let me tell you what: this blows that away! I did some research. Quite a few bonuses to this product vs the other: no prescription required...which means no sleep study, no doctor's visit....no additional expense. You just sleep without snoring. How does it work? Well, to put it quite simply a CPAP mask works by putting positive air pressure in your nasal passage. This works much in the same way...naturally. The strip is designed to allow you to breathe in through your nose but when you try to breathe out, the little membrane in the strip closes and there is a tiny hole in the middle to allow some air to pass, but not alot...which causes "pressure" in your nasal passage much like a CPAP mask. The other bonus: you can take them with you! Try doing that with your CPAP mask when going on vacation.I have made 3 purchases of these strips. My first was a 14 pack to try em out. The next two were the 30 packs. I'm halfway through my second 30 pack and I want to share with you some important information to help them work properly. The key to achieving the positive pressure is how you apply these strips. If they do not seal, they will not work. That is not a fault in the design, it's a fault in how they are applied. Watch the videos, read the instructions thoroughly.Men: if you have a mustache that starts from the bottom of your nose you are going to have to shave that little spot so there is smooth skin for these to stick, you can keep the stache just have to shave under your nose for the strip to stick ( I found that out the first night ).Clean your nose and around your nose. I know that sounds silly as you think it's clean but trust me there is always a little bit of residual oil from your nose around your nose area where these need to stick.Once you feel you have applied it properly, try breathing in through your nose, then lightly breathing out. Do it in front of a mirror. You will see the membrane open and close. Put a finger by the little hole in the middle of the strip when you breath out, you should feel the air pass. Do not blow to hard or you break the seal you just acquired. When properly applied when you try to breath out it will feel like your nose is stuffy just like when you have a cold.If it is not sealed properly I recommend grabbing another one and trying again. Do not try to reuse the one that didn't seal properly. In my experience I have done that and the strip ends up coming off in my sleep...or at least that's what my wife tells me after I wake up from the shin kicks lol.It really is a great product. Please feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to respond. I will also post a pick of me wearing one of these at some point so you can see all the good laughs your spouses will have....then how happy they will be when they realise they got a good nights sleep.

Nope. Tried. Failed. Never again.
Kind of expensive for what they are.And somewhat distracting. The theory might work - but this product did not work at all for me.Uncomfortable. Nightmares. One-way breathing through your nose. Kind of like wearing a diving mask to bed...

Truly amazed and happy with this
UPDATE: I am now purchasing my sixth package of these. All I can say is I wouldn't be shelling out $30 a month if these didn't work. Boyfriend has not been scared out of the bed because of my snoring in 6 months. It is fantastic. The nose strip does not affect my sleeping in any way anymore. I'm almost to the point I can't fall asleep without it, but even saying that, it's not because I need to feel the strip; you don't feel the strip. It is very lightweight. I'm so thankful I've tried these and kept with them. They have truly changed my quality and quantity of sleep. My only cons: I think after six months of strips, the skin on my nose is paying a little bit of a price. I am breaking out a little more often on my nose, and I am noticing some dry patches as well. My only thing is I'm not sure if this is because of the adhesive on the strip or the alcohol wipe I need to do to make sure my oily skin doesn't interfere with the adhesive. In the long run though, I will deal with the dry skin and breakouts because I am so thankful to be sleeping better and not disturbing my boyfriend.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have only used this for 4 nights, and WOW! I didn't know I was a bad snorer until a few months ago. I knew something had to change after two weeks of either chasing my BF out of bed or out of guilt, sleeping in the couch myself because of my snoring. Going to bed had become a huge source of anxiety because of my snoring.Tried nose strips, clips, snore stop spray and nothing worked. I was only finding some relief with nasal decongestant sprays, but it still wasn't enough. Before I took the suggestion of getting a chin strap to help with snoring, I figured I would try Theravent.Thank goodness I tried this! First night was hard, I didn't sleep well at all, and two hours before my alarm, I took it off. The feeling of the air pressure change was just too much that first night. Second night I was exhausted, but wore it, and I DID sleep. I actually felt good. BF said I was quiet and he slept better. Third and fourth nights have just gotten better and better. I feel more clear headed. I feel more relaxed. I just feel better than I have in a very long time. With this kind of result after only 4 nights, I am totally going to be sticking with this.If there are any downsides, yes, there is a learning curve. The feeling of all the air pressure those first few uses can be fairly uncomfortable. Maybe I was lucky and have gotten used to it quickly. Maybe I was so desperate for something to work, but it has. Other reviewers have said it, yes you must prep your nose to get good adhesion, but a quick swipe some some rubbing alcohol and you are golden. Also I'm still getting the hang of proper placement, a little off kilter and you sound like you have a kazoo on your nose, but only if you breathe in quite forcefully.I would say try them and keep with it. The downs far outweigh how good I feel, even the price. I don't feel like $30 a month is that bad given that I have improved the sleep of myself and my very patient BF.

Some improvement
It's worth a try. I tried the Lite version first to get used to this, and moved up to the regular version. I still snore, but less of the time. I was surprised that it did not irritate my skin.UPDATE: After using this for a month, it is irritating my skin. I am sensitive to band-aids, so I am not surprised. I'm going to try not using it for a day or two and see if I can use it some of the time. Sometimes I breathe through my mouth instead of my nose, so I still snore some with this.If I remove the Theravent carefully and put cortisone cream on, I can keep the skin irritation down.I tried the max version and I just ended up breathing through my mouth because there is too much resistance.I've been using these for several months. I've tried a lot of other things, including the mouth guards that move your mouth forward. There seems to be no cure for snoring for me, but these decrease my snoring.
