Easy to set up and use for small business

I've been using earlier versions of the same software, though from a different publisher. I had to buy the newest since I lost my copy and am starting up a new computer, so I'm very familiar with the strengths and weaknesses. As a "flat" organizer of data (it can't draw data from different files), it is relatively easy to create and manage databases.Creating the basic input forms is straight-forward, but when entering dates and numeric values you are limited in the formatting options to your Windows operating system defaults. For example, if you set your computer date in this format mm/dd/yyyy, then that's the only format you can use in the database. Decimal points are also set by default. This, I consider a severe restriction, especially when it comes to calculated data.You can create an input form much as you would with a publishing program, putting the input fields where you want. You can enter data in that format or in the table-view which I find more convenient. However, when using that mode, there are again some peculiarities. For example, you can usually tab from field to field, but when you reach a calculated field it stops, tells you so, and then you have to mouse over to the next input field. Curiously, the prior version did not have these same problems.Output forms can be free form which requires lots of pretty tedious designing or a pretty straight-forward columna report, which is what I use. Again, you have lots of options.I did have a problem installing version 1 which was in my box; however, I got instant assistance from their support personnel on the phone. The agent was friendly, helpful, and ultimately sent me a downloadable copy of version 2 and two installation keys to compensate for the bother. Importing data from several versions ago was problematical, but I persisted and got all my old data up and running with no losses.All-in-all I'm satisfied except for the above noted limitations. I think the value is good for the functionality.

I have no idea how long Windows 10 has been out, but you would think by now Ananquest, should have figured that out. I am trying to install MyDataBase, but can not get past the inputting of their licensing code. This is a guess, but I am assuming none of their software works on a computer running Windows 10. They say they have a 90 Day return policy, but good luck with that. My advice do not buy this software.

This Program could be modernized and updated. Update of more user friendly functions within each each database templates. Offer more choices for templates and a more guided use of each database and auto function to apply user data.

It will work for what I needed. I needed a customer contact database for recording when customers called in for support.I was able to easily create what I needed from an existing template.The editor interface is a little irritating as items could be floating above others.So when trying to select one thing to move, you end up moving something else.I don't see a way to create interfaces with different tabs or depths to it -- or to modify the information that shows up in a "history" window.However I did find something that will do the job, even if not exactly how I wanted it.

Great except I cannot register it.........their website is gone.

A relational database similar to MySQL. Has a decent user interface and good data verification/valadation and backup capabilities. Easy to use programming interface. Good software for the non-programmer that needs a database capability. Recommended.

I purchased My Database and followed all the DETAILED instructions to obtain the rebate. It said this could be done online and so, I proceeded through the registration online ONLY to discover at the end that this all has to be done by mail. I assembled everything they required -- UPC, box top, receipt, etc. etc. and sent it in to the P.O. Box address provided. I just now got this back in the mail as Return To Sender -- Attempted Not Known -- Unable To Forward. So, it appears that either they are out of business or it is a total scam that they are playing. I am inclined to believe the latter because I have received dozens of additional software offers from them -- NON-STOP! Their online registration and lure of a rebate is nothing more than their unscrupulous way of obtaining my email address so they can keep sending me unlimited sales offers. I have sent at least 50 emails to them about this as well as technical questions regarding the software but NEVER received a reply. Do you really think that anyone would be interested in purchasing additional products from them?
