The Nero Ball Classic TM is a high-quality, mint-infused natural rubber ball attached to a durable nylon rope with a non-slip loop, designed specifically for working dogs. Used by police and military K-9 units worldwide, it offers a safer alternative to tennis balls by protecting dogs' teeth while enabling longer throws without a launcher. Proceeds support K-9 teams globally, making it a purposeful and professional-grade training and reward toy.

What I've been looking for
Just got my Nero Ball. Only used it once, but really like it. I've tried other "ball on a string" type toys, with unsatisfactory results. I'll be using it as a training reward, and my boy, who is a pretty ferocious tugger, is going to learn 2 new things with this ball. 1st, to target the ball instead of the rope, and 2nd, that it's for a little gentle tugging instead of the full throttle stuff he does otherwise. After our 1st session with the Nero Ball, he's picking up on the new rules quickly. We'll see how it does long term, but I think this is one I'll stay with.*UPDATE* Been using my Nero Ball for a month now. I'm tempted to call it the 'Hero Ball' because it's just that terrific!! For me, the key has been putting in the time to allow both myself & my dog to develop the skill to use this tool smoothly. May sound strange, but using a toy as a training reward requires practice, and each different toy configuration requires different handling. It's time well spent - we're both having a lot of fun!Kudos to the designer of this ball. Every detail has been carefully considered, from the length & material of the rope (just the right length that the dog won't step on it; material is easy on the hand while still being tough enough to withstand a few toothy grabs; the loop is the perfect size to grab for a little tug or to pass the ball through to slip-knot it onto a belt loop). The ball is also just right. The knobs make it non-slip, the rubber eliminates tennis ball fuzz concerns, and being semi-hard and hollow makes it slightly compress-able, which makes it a higher value reward than a solid ball that can't be compressed. While this ball will not work for every application or for every dog, if you carefully read & understand the information provided and don't expect it to work outside those parameters, you will be pleasantly surprised by a very well designed, well constructed tool that you can use to enhance your training or play sessions with your dog.

Very durable
We have a Belgian malinois and these are great for her! Very durable. We usually lose them and have to replace them before she can tear one up .

Durable
This is my second Classic Nero Ball. The first one had a heavier string. Hopefully the string on this ball will last as long as the ball does. The string does get frayed where it goes through and into the ball itself. It's a great ball. It's tough, you can wing it a good distance and the colors are nice too. The bright orange and blue makes it a little easier to spot in the grass or light snow.

My dog simply loves this toy!
A simple concept expertly manufactured. Sturdy and durable, this toy will give your aggressive chewer hours of pleasure be it playing tug with her owner or fetching repeatedly. Made to last which is important! This toy gets two paws up from this dog owner. Hours of distraction and fun for all. A classic novelty!

STOP leaving interactive toys alone with your dog!!
Seriously, EDUCATE yourself if you’re going to buy toys for your dog. Do NOT leave this alone, even for ‘just a minute’ with your dog. This toy is designed to be interactive and does the job well if you use it as designed. You are hurting your dog and taking away all engagement value and training that this toy is awesome for. This toy is specifically designed to be held, by the rope by the human, and the dog is to go after the ball, if left alone ANY dog that enjoyed chewing is likely to chew through a thin rope.If you’d like durable toys to LEAVE WITH your dog, look for toys designed as *chews* specifically. They have ball shaped ones. Don’t give your dog rope to chew on and ingest ever unless you want a sick/dead dog. This is a great interactive toy for the price, only hang up is the knot tied for the handle is crap, so just re-tie it.

Nice toy
The media could not be loaded. This product is generally durable and easy to throw. However, the original rope knot came undone after just four throws, per my wife. Unfortunately, my knot-tying skills are limited to fishing knots and slip knots, which is on me. While I can't give a perfect score, I believe it deserves a 4.5 out of 5 stars due to the knot issue. A simple solution would be to apply heat shrink tubing over the knot and heat it to secure it, which would enhance its reliability and potentially elevate the rating to a perfect five stars.
