Used for old Mac HD replacement. Once configured with the correct partition sizes on ssd the item works great. Been tested an ran under load for three days. No issues. Power cable is a nice touch since it makes the drive easier to mount with an adapter.

This product works great. I have three of them in one of my machine. To be clear, it converts a sata drive to IDE so it can be plugged into an old machine that is IDE only. It does not convert an IDE drive to sata. I have tried it on multiple HDDs and two optical drives. I have had no issues just leaving everything as cable select. Unfortunately, StarTech doesn't seem to make one of these, so I have to plug one of their competitors instead.

Works great! Has the slave/master switch which I used to transfer data from a locked hard drive to my new one. Now my og xbox has the much needed upgrade.

Excellent, great quality and worked with no issues. Have jumper made it easy to setup as a second drive on the ide ribbon.

This is the top of the top for original xbox mods. I sent back the first one I bought as I just couldn't get it to work. I decided to use a different drive and finally got it to work. I read these have some issues with Samsung DVD drives and it has problems communicating with them when you mod the xbox. I found the way around this is to start it with the power button and not the larger DVD drive button. Using that gives an Error 11 which means it can't communicate with the drive. But it is working but I have to take out a star for the problems/compatibility.

The only IDE -> SATA I've tried that works. Tested on an Power Mac G4 and was seeing speeds upwards of 80MB/s. All the off-brand units I've tried either don't work at all or kinda work but aren't able to boot fully.

I will be buying more! These are the perfect adapter for original Xbox HDD and SSD SATA upgrades! Don’t believe anyone who says it doesn't fit inside the Xbox case, there’s lots of room to spare with a 2.5” drive and a 2.5” to 3.5” adapter tray. Be sure to get an 80 wire 40 pin IDE cable too! Why am I telling you all this? There are upgrade guides and videos out there. Great stuff! Highly recommended!
