Perfect For My Home Gym!
Great bag platform for the home gym!! I bought the "Elite" speedbag platform after reading the reviews and must say I'm glad I did. The Elite is a rock solid. You won't loose speed or rhythm to the movement of a flimsy frame or board. Mine came with Everlast's NEW style chrome plated Pro swivel that allows bag removal with the pulling of a simple cotter pin. (Not the hard to use old "Pro" style galvanized swivel with the chain link.) Coupled with a leather 4214 speed bag, this is one GREAT workout station!I'd like to address some of the "issues" that that others have mentioned that might make you think twice about the Elite:First, and obviously, you will need tools to assemble and install. A drill, drill bit, #2 Phillips head screw driver, tape measure, Torpedo (magnetic is a plus) level, and adjustable wrench will do the trick. These are all basic tools even if you live in an apt. If you don't already own these, you should... These tools will be easy to find if you don't want your own a tool kit.Mounting Hardware: This unit comes with all the hardware needed EXCEPT the fasteners to mount the horizontal wood pieces to the wall. This is reasonable, since Everlast has no idea where you'll hang your unit. Why add to the cost of the unit by adding a bunch of un-needed hardware? - To mount through ½" drywall into wood studs, I used 4 ea - 5/16" x 4" Lag Screws, and washers (Cost about $2.00 total at Lowes), plus a longer drill bit to pre-drill the wall studs for the Lag Screws ($5.00 at Lowe's, but will go into my toolbox and be usable long after this project is done.) Lowe's sales folks can help you decide which is the best hardware for your application.I usually like to span 3 studs when hanging stuff, too, but this kit is set-up to attach to two, at 16". This is absolutely not a problem, my platform does not move what so ever.Ceiling Height: I'm 6'1 and set mine about 4 inches down from an 8ft ceiling. I'm using the top setting, (bottom of the bag about mid nose height) so if you are much taller, you may want to hang a little higher.Instructions: It really doesn't need any... There are only 8 separate parts, plus fasteners. A simple look at the front of the box (or the Amazon product photo) will show you how every thing assembles. Just start by figuring how high your top wood needs to be and work your way down. Keep things plumb and level. Took my son and I about 1.5 hours to install, and we were clowning around much of the time. All in all, this is the perfect set-up for my family and friends. I highly recommend this unit!

Make sure you mount it correctly.
The media could not be loaded. Works well , doesn't bounce around.Allows me to get in extra practice at home without breaking the bank.

Works great, bad directions. You need wall mounting hardware & the bag
4 stars for quality of product. It is well made and not too difficult to put together even though the directions that came with were awful. I included pictures to help with installation guidance. Small screws for bag holder & swivel. 4 bolts with nuts attach through the bottom of the circle platform into the metal hangers. Other 4 bolts mounting to wall boards once those are secure. Measure twice here because it's about 23" top to bottom. This needs to go into wood studs. You will need 4 lag bolts to mount the wood cross boards to the studs. 5/16 by 3" is what I went with. I wouldn't do smaller than that. Mount to a height where the bottom of the bag can move between chin to eye level.

I like it.
Works just fine.*MOUNTING*I used 1/2" wood stud bolts that were 4 inches long. The instructions are not good but you get a visual aid. Measuring down 6 inches from the top of the ceiling was good for me (6 ft tall)It took about 45 minutes to fully install.*REBOUND*Does this have good rebound? Yes. After adding 65lbs of sandbags, this platform has good rebound and does not shake the entire house. 65lbs was the magic number. I tried more (up to 130 pounds) and it had no added benefit. Less than 65 lbs of sand equals more vibration and noise.*SWIVEL*I proactively purchased the "better" everlast swivel. After visual comparison, they are slightly different. The factory swivel wighed 465 grams and had rececessd holes for the mounting hardware and the bolts fit the hole snug. There was a little bit of play in the bearingThe "better" everlast swivel was slightly lighter (425 grams) and had no play in the bearing, which seemed better. However, the mounting plate had no recessed holes for the mounting hardware and the bolts were smaller than the holes. This had no effect after securely tightening. In my opinion, the upgraded swivel is better.Overall, I am very satisfied.

better than I expected given some reviews.
Now that I've had this thing for a couple of months I'd like to share my experience with this speed bag platform. It rocks... in a good way. Getting it set up was easy enough, it took three of us to do it, me, myself and I. I used a pair of 1 x 6 pine boards to span the studs since they are spaced 24 inches apart in my garage and then I mounted it to them. The 1 x 6's allow more space between the wall and the adjustment knobs as well so I don't have the problems others have had in that regard. The hardest part was getting the platform attached but I stood on a ladder and supported it with my shoulder while I installed one bolt and from there it was easy to do the rest. The swivel that came with it works OK, maybe it's because I'm a beginner and don't know any better. Others have mentioned vibration and placing a weight on the platform to eliminate that. I didn't have a bag of sand but I did have a bag of manure so I used that. Didn't notice any difference other than it made my garage smell more like a real gym so I took it off.Overall I'm very happy with this product, it's works like it should as far as I can tell, now if I could just get that little bag to do what I want it to.
