Update: I needed an F hook(3.75mmUS) and was surprised that there isn't one in this set. There is a 3.5mm and a 4.0mm, but no 3.75mm. This is somewhat disturbing to me -- I hate to have to change hooks to adjust to a gauge. The hooks that are US standard included are an E, G, H, I, and J, and a "7" (4.5 mm). The other 3 are not calibrated to the US standards that are used in most US patterns. Certainly these 3 are useable if you need to change your gauge slightly, But it is still annoying. I love the quality of the hooks, and the case is useable, but I am modifying my rating to a 3.I checked some of the other sets of soft-handled hooks, and ALL the ones I checked have the same issue. That suggests that these are all made by the same company in China. Find the best price point for yourself -- these are more expensive than some others.Excellent. I checked carefully as I have had some bad experiences in the past. The hooks and shafts are smooth and correctly sized (I have a very accurate size gauge from Lacis). The plastic case was a little stinky for a couple of hours, but that aired out. I'd say these are almost identical to the Clover brand. The grip is slightly different in shape, but only slightly.They are made in China, however, to answer some of the questions. The company is in the USA and is very attentive. I got an email from them as soon as I ordered.I would have preferred to have a 6.5mm instead of the 2.00mm, but that's a nit. It does include a size "7" (between G and H). Those seem somewhat harder to find than others.

I've picked up crocheting again after a number of years. I gave away all my old yarn, but a pretty yarn on the end cap in a store called my name and once again I'm crocheting. But I'm older and the skinny steel hooks slide from my hands and give my hand cramps trying to hold on to it when my skin is dry and it's late at night. I've read the reviews where it says that the hooks are too short. I have very large hands and find the hook rests comfortably at the edge my palm just below my pinky finger. This gives me even MORE control than with a typical long skinny crochet hook. The material on the handles are also firm but non-slippery. I can crochet for hours on end without my hand cramping. The hooks are marked not by J, K, L, etc. but by mm, making them more accurate. I also love the carrying case which is see-through. These are wonderful hooks and Iwould recommend them to anyone.

I love these crochet hooks. I am a beginner and was previously using just Boye metal hooks. They made my hand ache, my forearm sore and the tip would snag the yarn.Last weekend i started crocheting a baby blanket and got about 12 inches done with a basic hook. Yesterday my Ergo Hooks came in the mail so I switched to them for a couple more rows. What a difference!!! I only need to hold the hook loosely, and it is very soft and comfortable. No more death grip. When I looked back at my work i noticed that my stitches looked better too. More uniform.As a dental hygienist, I need to protect my hands and wrists . I am really glad that I gave these a try so that I can continue to work on my new hobby. Highly recommended to everyone.

These ergonomic hooks are quite nice for the price, especially since they come in their own case. The smaller sizes - 2.00 mm, 2.50 mm, and 3.00 mm are hard to find in stores. The handles are covered in rubber that is not as bulky as the Boye hooks that I have, but are still comfortable to hold. The size of each hook is engraved in the handle but is hard to see unless the light is shinning on it. I wrote down the color of each hook and its size on a small piece of paper and keep it in the case just to make it easier for me.I have been using the 2.50 mm to crochet a sport weight yarn with metallic and it is working just fine.The hooks are aluminum and made in China but the company is in the U.S. and family owned.Customer service is great - they contact you several times after you order and I'm sure that they will respond quickly if you have a problem.I'm very happy with this set and the price is right.

I am pretty happy with these. The handles are soft, the hooks glide, and they are comfortable. I am not sure how they compare to high dollar hooks as these are my first set like this (have only used red heart crystalites) but I really like these. They are a little short from what I am used to but they work great.My only complaints are purely cosmetic. The comfy handles seemed to have leaked from their molds a little and was on the hook but I was able to remove the excess with my nail (was just a little bit). Also the bottom of my case is scratched up but works just fine.I am sure I will bang it up myself anyway.Customer service seems to be great as I received multiple emails through the transaction. I have never had that before and thought it was nice! Thank you Straden!

I'm very particular about the crochet hooks I use. I have a ton, from cheap to expensive hardwood, but I always tend to use the same few hooks. I think that's going to change with these Ergo Hooks from Straden. I have very small hands and the handle feels very comfortable. The colors are bright and happy! I'm looking forward to crocheting for hours with less hand cramping than usual. I got these for about $20 using a coupon and can confirm that was a steal once I saw the quality.
