Higgins Black Magic Pigmented Drawing Ink, 1 Ounce Bottle (44011)

I teach a summer art class for children and in that class we do crayon-ink-drawings because it is one of my favorite projects. Higgins Black Magic Ink is the best ink for this process because it is always reliably black and has good coverage. Excellent product!

Works perfectly for illustrating

This ink is a really deep dark black, and withstands water very well - I draw with it, wait a while, then paint with watercolor over it; the Black Magic doesn't smear at all, doesn't lighten, and doesn't bleed grey into the watercolor, the way their basic "Higgins waterproof drawing ink" does. In those respects I recommend it. However, it does get a bit gummy and hard to work with pretty quickly, a problem I never had with the basic drawing ink. I'm still giving it four stars because the end result is good.

The ink just draws so well. It's smooth and one drop goes pretty far. I haven't tried any other brand, but I don't need to. I love this one.

There are a lot of inks on the market but I keep coming back to good ol' reliable Higgins Black Magic! Very high quality and very water resistant when dry. I keep two flasks of it on my art desk.. one full strength and one watered down so it produces a gray tone. Works perfectly. Higgins is awesome ink!

I use this ink for my miniature painting, its great for Comic style/ Cell shading effects on minis, specially deep dark shadow areas.

Once this ink dries it is truly waterproof. It is good for washes as well. My only complaint is that the containers are not air tight and will dry out if not used within a couple of months.

I like this ink, it is nicely pigmented, not greyish pale black. It has a nice, matte finish. Great for linework. It is waterproof as well so after it gets dry, you can do some colorwash or wet ink on top which is great.

It's great - completely waterproof and a very manageable consistency which really glides across paper (of the correct thickness). Produces really smoothe lines which is what I'm looking for. I use it for the lineart for my cartoony watercolour illustrations and it works brilliantly. Dries down mostly matte which is what I'm looking for.

First-rate,permanent, waterproof black drawing ink!

Bought this for my Dad to use in his creative arts. He was pleased so I was pleased. That's it really.

This is amazing ink, yeah its a bit pricey when you ass the product price and the delivery together, but this is one of the best inks out there. I recommend it !
