I purchased this bread knife solely to cut sourdough bread. Have gotten into baking as of late and needed something to accommodate the bread output.Not quite sure what I was expecting from a knife in this process range, but I rstr it 'alright'.Even on large strokes you have to apply a significant amount of pressure. So thin slices are out if you got a decent crust going on. It's definitely easier to cut toast or soft shell breads, but even then, you get tearing. Trust me when I say, buy something in the 70-110 range if you plan on using it often and frequently.

Bought to replace one broken in a set (these are highly brittle knives so they do snap easily if dropped). Good knife, sharp blade that cuts very well. Came quickly but packaging was extremely unsuitable...far too big a box

Bought this as I bake all my own bread and slice it as soon as it has cooled. I thought I deserved a decent knife after struggling with some cheap old knives.The knife is quite weighty compared to my old ones - it feels strong and solid.The blade cuts through the crust well so there is little crushing of the soft bread inside - much better than my old knives.I have been able to cut quite thin slices with it right to the end.I am really pleased with the knife and highly recommend it.

Bought this after being defeated by the crust of a sourdough loaf. After reading a few online reviews this seemed like a good performer in a sensible price range. I also read advice on the technique (sawing motion without pressing downwards) and can confirm that this knife passed the sourdough test with flying colours. A good buy.
