About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words.Innovative, Integrated, Interactive How did you come up with the idea for this product?Starting Ozmo was a personal quest, losing family members to painful diseases; I pledged to live a healthy life very early on. The inspiration behind Ozmo was the realization about the importance of hydration and how everyone takes it for granted. After seeing the negative effects of dehydration, both me and my co-founder, Ming, decided that we want to spread knowledge about hydration and create a product that could help with this problem. Prior to starting Ozmo both me and Ming were working in a design house creating new and better products. Throughout my five years of experience in product development, I realized that most of product launch failure could have been avoided by getting the product right earlier on, or understanding the limit of the maker. This is a powerful advantage of being a Hong Kong-based start-up – I can stay close to the manufacturing base and ensure quality.What makes your product special?Ozmo is not just a water tracking bottle, but it is your customizable hydration experience that provides you with insights. We understand that drinking eight cups of water a day is not a reasonable goal for everybody. What has been the best part of your startup experience?The best part has been when loyal users come and tell us about their improved habits and performance due to consistent hydration. Our mission is to make the world hydrated and healthy and as we come closer to our goal we feel all this hardwork is finally paying off! Review: Does what I needed it to but not always what it should do. - i wasn’t drinking enough water and this cup has certainly made me drink more. However, it doesn’t always work and this is not acceptable for the price. Yesterday I apparently drank nothing at all. Today’s data is there so why not yesterday’s? It synced with my iPad and phone but just came up with nothing. The lid was on properly and the cup’s lights showed I had met my goal. It’s just the app which says I haven’t. It’s having a positive effect on my health, but cheaper ones would have done this too.
